My MCB themed APX Gear pants no longer fit and I see they may be out of business. Is there a pant similar to these that exists? Thick material but breathable mesh at the back of the legs and a decent knee pad?

Man, imo the new pant style are joggers from what I see, and Im not a fan of any of them. I currently have a hoard of old pants to hopefully last me til the jogger phase is over.
Everybody I know raves about their crbn pants, but I just can't help but think they all look like chicken legged warriors running around in them.

I have been looking for something similar for a while. I still fit into mine but I’m not sure how many seasons they have left in them. I wish there were a few things that were different but I’d take them as is if that was the option. I have to remember to bring mine to my mother and ask her if she can remake them without destroying the current ones.
MAr had some remade for DBD. I don’t know what was involved in it but perhaps he may be able to offer some insight or a lead to where they were made.Red OneComment

They are a medium which is 34-36” IIRC. The stud side of the top button failed and needs to be redone, but they still have the second button so would stay in place just fine. I’m closer to a 37-38 these days, but slowly making my way back down. Might just have to get something til these fit again.Comment

I don't know what these APX pants looked like, but I use the UNDR Recon pant. UNDR has both joggers & a slightly more traditional pant. I say slightly because it's not a baggy pant like the old JTs, but it's a looser, straight-legged pant. Kind of a middleground between the old JTs and joggers.
This is what I have: https://undrindustries.com/undr-reco...-m81-woodland/
You can get them with or without padding. The camo area on the front from the mid-thigh to the ankle is all padding. The butt/waist area/back of the thighs is stretch material, while the backs of the calves & insides of the thighs are double-layered mesh. I'm 6'4", so the padded area goes higher up my thigh than what is pictured (comes up halfway from my knees to my groin). They also come with velcro'd in hip pads and UNDR can make custom sizes. I really like the thigh-to-ankle padding for running through brush.Comment

Those are probably really close to what I have. The only complaint about the APX pants is they are mostly black and in the AZ desert that’s something we try to avoid on a daily basis. I’ll keep these in a tab and think about pulling the trigger on some. Thanks.

The UNDR pants are excellent. I have several pairs of the traditionals as I don't like joggers at all. Been excellent pants overall. No complaints.Comment

I guess they’re pretty much old stock now. Most shops including eclipse shop are sold out. I could use more pockets. The program https://www.ebay.com/itm/37253463187...mis&media=COPYComment

The UNDR Desert Tiger pants I ordered arrived today. For being in the desert, these are a lot more breathable than my APX Gear pants. In a colder environment, the APX would be a great way to go.
the UNDR doesn’t have as much padding around the zipper area so I’ll have to wear something under it, where I didn’t have to with the APX. The actual zipper design on the UNDR are better though IMO. If you’ve ever worn a tux, you’ll know the sequence. Single button, zipper, outer flap with two sturdy buttons and Velcro holding the whole flap in place. Very robust.
Knee pads run most of the way up from the ankle to mid thigh. Seems like they are designed to have you wear padded shorts underneath, so might look into that. I’m happy with the purchase.Comment
