I'm thinking of buying a yellow old style proshield, but I have a vague memory of hearing that the plastic on them is prone to cracking when hit. My google fu is failing me here, is that the case, or am I confusing them with the IZE Proflexes?
Are yellow/highlighter proshields safe?

In my experience or recollection that is not the case for either the highlighter Spectras or IZE Flex.Velcor will save us...

You might be confusing them with Jt Proteus, I belive the plastic on certain Proteus earpieces were prone to cracking/breakingComment

The only JTs I can recall hearing about having cracking issues are the clear parts on the gen 1 Proteus and the ultra rare clear proshield bottoms.
There were some counterfeit bottoms made in rare colours by an ex factory employee who had the moulds. There's people who use them and say they actually hold up fine but I wouldn't trust them.

Nah your all good. Highlighter frames and bottoms are safe. They have aged well. It’s The IZE that are getting brittle.
The Proshield line is still rock solid.Comment

IZE buttoms have really soft rubber and the plastic nowadays can have hairline cracks from what I've seen, due to age. Old pignose Spectra bottoms are also super brittle. Normal Spectras have all been good.Comment
