    OH Mag

Saw this on my ebay feed last week and figure what the hell, put an offer in, woke up for work the next day and I got it. Arrived today and she's beautiful, doesn't look like she's seen much use
Might have to break her out for an upcoming mech tourney

That is very nice, not seen an ano that like that. Plus a single trigger that was not chopped. Also like the pistol whip tape, just in case someone gets out of line on the fields.

Can you also take more pictures, other side and driving. What's with the hole on the body by the barrel. Some custom work on the body?

Got any more info on "OH"? Haven't heard of them before. Reminds of the Mark Davis guns.

Oh as in Oh Pawlsk, then owner of predator marketing paintball. This was his shops custom mag based on what he did to his personal mags

He used to go by "oh the pro you know"

        Mark Davis never did mags

Oh Mags are kinda cool. Oh Pawlak was the first professional name I knew, and the Automag was the first marker I ever lusted after.
Oh Mags came in both classic Automag and Minimag variations. They ALL came with a power feed. Classic mags sometimes came with a Pro Team power feed adapter instead of a factory soldered one.

Classic bodies had holes drilled up front for weight savings and to see the bore size engraved on the barrel. I think some versions had small rings turned into them as well behind the holes. Purely cosmetic. They also came with Benchmark frames and Hogue grips. They were all splash anodized with either polished bodies, or some had "sponged" bodies, so the steel would better match the rail ano. I would imagine most of the sponged bodies have flaked away by now.

They came with Pro Valves, which were stock valves, but had the 8 hole mod. These were actually the first valves to do that, and they just kept on with it even after AGD corrected the alignment issue in the original first gen valves. I believe they also had an aftermarket, or maybe just modified, on/off top for more flow. Otherwise, it's a stock valve.

The sear face is usually polished and squared. The idea was by squaring it, you would reduce friction against the bolt, and also reduce the length of the pull. The polishing just further reduced friction. But what really happened was you'd end up with all kinds of weird issues after a while because the bolt would just chew up these sears. The sears are only surface hardened, so if you polish that off, there's no protection. OP, if your gun starts acting inconsistently funky, check the sear.

Oh, and they all came with quick disconnects and vertical adapters. Forgot to mention that.

I wonder what Oh Pawlak is doing nowadays. I remember back in the day he was kind of a controversial figure in pro paintball - people either kind of loved him or hated him. IIRC, he was the guy that popularized (read: frequently used) the dead man's walk, and forced a rule change about discarded pods. The rules used to be any equipment you carried onto the field was considered a part of the player, so if it got hit you were out. Pretty sure there was a famous incident where he ran around in one game just shooting the used pods from players on the other team to get them all out. Am I remembering that correctly?

I think I remember hearing about that. I started in 98, but I was 10, so I didn't quite know everybody and all the happenings. Life got better when I discovered Warpig.

This was definitely from back in the days when tales such as these spread via the pages of APG and PGI.

If true, the man is a legend. I enjoyed the occasional dead man's walk. Shooting discarded pods is just hilarious. Knee jerk reaction is to get upset...but the truth is that games are played by their rules, and it takes clever players to venture out and find the exploits.

edit: please don't let this start a debate about the dead man's walk... I'm sure there's already plenty of other threads here that cover it.

I also had an Oh Mag back in the day. Oh and his dad used to also own Paintball Sam’s paintball field near Sacramento. The mag pictured above is missing the three concentric ring circles above the holes. They used to call this milling “crowning” and I believe it was done by Dirk Gadberry when he used to work for some machine shop. Oh and Dirk used to also play for Bob Long’s Ironmen and Oh was sponsored by AGD and J&J. He also was known for wearing his signature plaid jersey. Kinda wish I still had my old Oh Mag. Sold it to get a Palmer’s Typhoon back in the day. Lived near both shops.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that. Dirk did the machine work. He drilled and turned the bodies, cut the rails, and even did some nice trimming on stock crown point barrels. You'd never tell they were crown points by looking at them.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it?

I'm going to be selling a splash mag in the near future, not quite the same but I'm the ballpark of yours

All depend if its an eclipse, smart part or other and if you have all the parts including matching wood grip.
Sold a splash camo "smart mag" minimag with complete splash kit including matching wood grip for $350 just before the hack

Nah, there's also something called sportsmanship.

              Dirty playing is dirty.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."
