    Ya know what Tippmann SHOULD be making right now?

    So this idea has been bouncing around in my head for a bit, on the market as of right now there is absolutely 0 cheap pumps. Azodin is the only (kinda) entry pump on the market. And I was thinking instead of doing whatever Tippmann is doing while being stagnant, why don't they make a sl68 3? A cheap nelson valve pump would rock for new entry level players wanting to test out pump play and keep cost down

      As much a I'd love for Tippmann to pull their heads out of their asses and do something good, I don't think a cheap nelson clone is the right way to go. It's not like the 2011 SL68 2 was popular. Heck, even the EMpire Trracer, which is pretty much the best cheap nelson clone you could have ever asked for, didn't do particularly well. If the market wanted them, they'd still be around.

        Completely agreed. Though as long as Tippmann is owned by GI/Kore/whoever I don’t see them being more than a cheap entry level IP to be taken advantage of. It’s sad.

      Except the sl68 2 (return) bombed.... So did the tracer.... So did the empire sniper

      And now that they are all owned by the same people that care only about volume of paint sales you'll never get another pump.

          Think about how long KEE too to introduce the fully mag fed Tippmann, by then they lost their own market.

            What Tippmann should make is a super cheap air sear mech gun to compete with the eNmy or whatever gog thing but with tippmann reliability. But they won't because this isn't 2000's tippmann.

              Conversely, GoG should bring back some version of the G1, the eNMEy with the milsim body. They could be eating Tippmann's lunch in the new player market if they would cater to the piccatinny rail aesthetics crowd.

                Industrial sewing machines. That’s what they should be making.

                I say they need phenom engine in something pneumatically driven mech with an automatic cycle that has an rt like clippard valve that allows the cycle rate to change from 5bps to 20 bps.

                  In my opinion;
                  - If the SL-68 II "version 2" had been properly named the SL-68 III when it was released it would have done better. I was one of the people who thought they were just re-casting the SL-68 II and it still had the small grip and feedneck designed for 1980s/1990s hoppers. I already had an old SL-68 II, so I didn't buy the new version (I'm actually looking for one now). They also didn't consider stock class feed options when they redesigned it. I've got my old SL's set up with stick feeds. I much prefer a centered stock feed, but I'd settle for the right hand feed that was an option on the Empire Traccer.
                  - The Empire Traccer had the sloppiest trigger ever made. I don't consider myself picky and it takes some really bad design to get my attention. I borrowed one in a game and was instantly turned off.
                  - Sniper's aren't entry level and someone with enough experience to want one, is probably going to build one themselves.

                  I think lizardking132 is right, there should be something between a Wal-Mart $40 JT ER2 "stop-sign shooter" and a $300 Azodin KP for entry level players. Even if you're confident getting stuff on eBay there aren't many old models that fit the basic criteria of;
                  1 - Interchangeable barrels
                  2 - Detents and/or bore size options
                  3 - Adjustable velocity

                  I'm subscribed to Lane's Monolithic Nelson thread because I would love to see something like a modern Brass Eagle Tigershark with the above features. A Tigershark was the first pump I played with. If "JT" can manufacture ER2's to sell for $40 retail I'm sure they could make something like a Stingray to sell for $80.
