    Halo and B2 loaders?

What are halos and B2s being used for lately?

I have at least three. I was thinking about printing new battery doors for them, but I still would not use them.

Does anyone still play with them by choice?

Is there a good use for the guts?

I have one with smoke shells that I love. It hasn't gotten used much recently since I've mostly switched to stick feed, but I don't plan to get rid of it. (Even when playing stick feed, I use it with a Drop-10 to refill my tubes.) Granted, it has a rechargeable battery pack that's lighter and lasts longer than 6 AAs, so it's not stock. But it still feeds faster than I can shoot on semi. Plus I love the smoke shells. Can you even get any of the new loaders available today with smoke shells? Wish we could.

I'm not a speedballer, though. I use a mech Automag and play with limited paint rules. If my situation were different, then yeah, I'd probably switch to something that's lighter and easier to take apart.

Let me make you something. I build pneumags, auto-response frames, and wooden pill cases.

Nope on the smoke, everything has switched over to the matte black Glass Reinforced Nylon for strength. Those GRN shells just don't crack, can be made thinner, and are lighter.

The only time I really see halos these days is when someone buys a cheaper electro and it comes as a package with one. The current iteration is pretty expensive for what it is and the LTR took the market.

People will sometimes use the guts for making a box mag and they can be used for warpless feeds.

I have 2 with the smoke shell and then a Halo Too. I like them but haven't pulled out in a while. Only the Too gets used if my son or brother invites a friend and we need a loaner package. They work great especially with field grade paint since paint handling doesn't matter. Can't ever outshoot one unlike a Spire. I stopped using them mostly because they're so heavy and the profile is huge. Also I like the smoke shells so would be afraid to break one in use.

I have a "new" Empire Halo Too with the matte black GRN shells. It also has a quick release on the battery door which is nice. I've only played with it once, just for fun. I did hold it up side-by-side to my Prophecy, and it's amazing the difference in profile. The Proph sits at least 2 inches shorter, and that's if I would cut the Halo feedneck down.

I got mine in a package deal with a new Proflex X goggle, bought just to keep as a backup. I see them with a lot of entry level players until they decided to fork out the cash for something higher end.

Battery life is the killer of those things. Few months of playing will pay for an LTR in battery’s alone.

Its not a bad hopper they just chew threw batteries horribly. The shell is hard to clean if you get paint/dirt in it. Wouldn’t be my choice hopper new or used. Not when you can get an LTR for $100 Or a used revvy for $25-$30

Mine sits in a gear bag as a back up. I normally run my revy over it since the Phillips screw battery door is annoying.

Also have v35 modded halos that sit since the field mainly gets newbies.

I just converted a HaloToo into a Warpless setup... had a couple kicking around from previous buys. Like Toestr mentioned, they're generally lumped in with bargain electros - I got my last one with an Ion purchase.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

zinger565 - I think I took a couple of pictures during the project but I didn't really plan on doing a build thread at the time, it was more of a way to occupy some time one weekend. 🙂

If there's enough interest I could probably whip something up, but there are still a few threads kicking around on the Interwebs that should give you an idea of what to do.

Sadly they’re too old. The prophecy and the z2 are the best loaders ever made and they’re better than the halo in every respect.

peeps struggle with the shells on the prophecy because lining up the tray takes a little finesse. They’re easy compared to the old halos though.

The virtue loaders are easier to work with for low BPS same with Pinokio / HK hoppers based on the ricochet design.

for high bps and no jams the z2 and original prophecy reign supreme. They’re just like your old halo but improved.

people would use a good classic halo on a retro build or something.

if you wanna talk about another loader that disappeared overnight the viewloader vlocity was great but poor build quality but a lot of people used em. Never see them anywhere anymore. Maybe all the shells broke.

Absolutely loved my VLocity. Love my current prophecy and Z2 though. Absolute studs.
