Just got some empire marbs in from ans and they are big! Not very round, but THICK. My largest insert is a 693 and they are too big to fit. Click image for larger version

Uh oh. All those .695 inserts everyone pitched years ago are going to skyrocket in price like a JT mask

Sweet, I'll be able to sell off all of these .69x inserts I have, and retire from the profits.

Interesting, anyone else maybe on west coast have a batch of current marbs or is this a one time dwelling event?

Is it just a wacky one or is it constantly large?

They are all large but not consistent all are anywhere from 690-695.

Oh so just bad quality control

Never thought I'd need anything above a .691" bore, but there's that madness.

          How well do they break?

Haven’t bought marbs in years since quality took a nose dive but some large bore paint let’s go! Hope it’s not a fluke and they really are making big ball again.

Have a feeling it's a fluke like they swelled or something but the shell is still brittle leading me to believe it's not swelling. Saw a post on reddit of someone who got some empire premium about the same size so that's promising

Could you imagine listening to customers and actually providing good large bore paint. This race to the bottom is getting real old.

GI Custom was over .693" at Random Draw League night tonight (technically, yesterday now, I guess). However, I also had a bag of paint with a beer can sized clump of paintballs sticking together. There was another clump about half that size. Most of the rest in the bag were badly dimpled or faceted. The other three bags in the case were OK. By OK, I mean the typical $h!t we've been seeing for the last two decades or so - .020-.030" variation in diameter.

So my guess is this is just $h!t quality control (or lack of climate control in transit), a result of changing to environmentally friendly materials, or both.

Shoot an open bolt, .689" or larger, and call it a day. I can get away with underboring for pump and Autococker play in the summer, but I open bolt and overbore the rest of the year.
