Anyone ever try going to the field and basically show up looking as unassuming as possible? No paintball specific pants/jersey and maybe a "sleeper" style gun that looks like nothing special, but kicks ass? I think this would lead to some funny interactions, especially if its a new field you haven't been to before or in awhile.

I used to, when I was going solo... but have found i just prefer a jersey of some kind with paintball specific pants.
The refs still know, though... show up in a T-shirt and jeans rocking a pump and they usually say something like "watch out for this guy". I'm not actually "that guy" but I get a chuckle out of it.

I don't do it to "dress down" but I've only used paintball pants once, I always play in denim and my old motorcycle boots.
I usually put an old jersey on top, but not always ...
As Jordan n said, the moment you pull out a pump the ref knows ...
If you want to "sleeper" use a spider or an old semi ...Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

Been tempted to try this when going to a new field. At least start the day off unassuming and switch to something nicer later. Maybe rock my Evil Omen as nothing else I have really flies under the radar.
Be a good way to review a field and see how you get treated and get a measure for their regulars.

I like the idea. I wear paintball specific pants because they're amazing BUT don't look like paintball pants: Kinetic KP-S.
I wasn't always a jersey person but the jerseys I do have are from Ruthless and don't have any name, number, team stuff (since I'm not on a team) and I've come to like these for the cool patterns, light weight/breathable, covers my upper body.

Yep. I call it "walk on camo". Jeans or other cargo pants, a hoodie of some design, old school Spectra mask, and a classic stock-ish looking mech. Refs know, players dont, and it makes rentals less squemish.Velcor will save us...

I used to, but I really do prefer my paintball-specific pants & team tech shirt. I'm more likely to be unassuming for smaller games. For scenarios I wear my jersey or tech shirt.
I do like pulling out the old paintguns though. I like fielding questions about them. My Angel turned quite a few heads last time I had it out. Older players have noticed my pre-2k slab body sniper as well.

I like paintball pants but dont really like how they look. Old t shirt on top. Still stand out big time, mostly for exposed skin it seems. People cant believe that it hurts just the same as a thin sweater.
my markers stick out too. Old pumps, everyone thinks its some crazy speedball rig or 'sniper'.
I try to explain that my old half broken gun isnt that great and my 10rnd tubes are more work than theyre worth. Im still trying to fill my last tubes when everyones walking out to the field.

I did this on vacation a few times when I traveled without gear. It’s fun when you ask the ref all the typical first timer idioms. I couldn’t get away with it at any of my local fields.
Actually gives me an idea, we should do an MCB rental game. Everyone has to use rental gear. With the exception of masks because we all know rental masks blow. White T only event!
