First Strike .50 Pistol & Launcher PBX 2023

Saw some pictures on the Smashface today of what looks to be a .50 version of their .68 pistols and also a launcher.

I can't link because the pictures are in a private group and I can't upload pictures because they will be of poor quality.

Anyone else with pictures please share.

First strike has made 50 cal pistols for a while at this point. I have a Roscoe, I don't know anything about a launcher though

Yeah the Roscoe is pretty cool and well priced. My only real gripes with it are that the cylinders are expensive compared to the Umarex ones and also there isn't really a good way to carry spares into the field. Also no good holster for it.

This one should be easier to carry spare magazines since they're a stick mag. I think I would have preferred it to have internal CO2 instead of in the magazine though. Hopefully this is also well priced.

First off, which pistol are you looking at? The fsc or tcp?

Why bother with a holster? Can't shoot someone if it's on your leg anyway. As for holding cylinders, there's forearm gauntlets out there and I found a guy on Etsy that makes a spring loaded holder that you can stack multiple in. I'm still checking to see if they will fit in that one but it looks good so far.

        There's also the mk.1 pocket

As for the price, you just need to shop around a bit

Leader since 2003 for MagFed and Woodsball paintball supplies, popular airsoft guns, competition air guns and tactical gear. Vast selection, low pricing and free US shipping.

$7.50 each is cheaper than any magazine I've seen

Just a quick browse, I'm seeing fsc mags for $40 and they run on 8g not 12. Ouch

I just grabbed 5 mag packs (10 total) for $75. With the 2 that came with the pistol that's 72 rounds total I can carry.

10 mags with the fcs is....$400..... Man that hurts. Even if they were half off they are still more expensive and then you have to put a 8g cart in each as well.

I'm not trying to sell you on the roscoe just saying if your reasons for not liking it revolve around the price of stuff like the cylinders and how to hold them the other pistols have all those same concerns.

The roscoe has it's own down sides. It's a chonk and changing the 12g wasn't designed all that well (although it did dry fire over 70 times so I'm not too concerned about it) I got it for the very specific reason that when my daughter starts playing it will most likely be on a field of 50cal rental players so I wanted something that I could go out on the same field with and not just be blasting all the kids with 12bps. Something that will limit my play. And if I'm right, FS is pulling them from production soon so I wanted to get it now.

I'm talking about a new .50 pistol that FS is currently showing off at PBX 2023. It looks to be a .50 version of the T8/FSC.

For me a good molded holster with a paddle release is appealing for use as a sidearm in magfed.

You're right, the Roscoe cylinders are comparatively cheap to a FSC mag since they don't need the CO2 infrastructure, but they are about twice as expensive as the Umarex cylinders which are nearly identical.

No info on a new .50 pistol at this point, though these Facebook posts were made by the company less than an hour ago.

Yep that's the launcher I saw the other day. I think the .50 pistol is meant to be from the same sub brand. Strange that the launcher looks to be based off the M17. I wonder what kind of arrangement is between Renatus and whatever Asian factory was manufacturing for Milsig? I think Milsig was also working on a .50 pistol years ago so this might be that coming to fruition?

I can definitely see the launcher being marketed to LE.

I have to ask why? Honestly because I have a buddy who does this as well and he has never really had a good reason why he carries one. Here's what I always ask him,.

                  1) "I need it as a backup" do you believe your main marker will break during a game ?

If no, why are you carrying the extra weight/target for me to shoot?

If yes, why didn't you do your maintenance beforehand?

                  2) "I need it for when I'm reloading" I'm not saying this can't happen, I've just never seen it in the real world, in theory it sounds fine. Let's assume you are right handed and want the pistol on your right leg like most players, the problem then is in order to grab it when you are surprised in a firefight you have to drop your main marker. Maybe you have a sling, you have to drop it in a way that it clears the draw path of the pistol, and I've never seen a player willing to drop their marker on the ground in order to draw a pistol in the very VERY unlikely scenario that they get surprised but somehow have enough time to draw aim and fire a pistol before the other player basically just pulls the trigger. Seems like practicing for a faster reload could save you around $200

                  3) "cqb bro! " Ok, why is your main marker not capable of this? If you have added enough weight to your main marker that its not capable of going around corners in any kind of a controlled fashion, why is adding even more gear the solution?

Don't get me wrong, do what makes you happy, if going out there all boondocks saints style with 6 pistols makes you happy, go for it. I've just never understood any desire to bring more than 1 marker out onto the field. Whenever I see someone going out with a pistol on their leg I know that's what I'm shooting at. They make fairly easy targets because players forget that they stick out from behind the tree/cover

Umarex = $5 each (cheap as I've found)
                  Roscoe = $7.50 each (I purchased them)
Fsc = $40 each (cursory browse)

If price is your deciding factor go for the tr50, the marker itself is cheaper as well. A lot of the guys around here like them. I'm not one of them. I had one for a hot minute and traded it for the roscoe. There were a lot of factors as to why

I noticed the m17 elements right away as well. Looks like they didn't even change the selector switch which is funny since the 3rd position is full auto. A full auto launcher sounds stupid..... And fun....Makes sense though, the m17 is a modified automag platform, I'm just guessing here but all you would really need to do to turn it into a launcher is enlarge the dump chamber (and barrel obviously).

I do also find it interesting that Nova and now FS are releasing launchers really close to each other. Anyone have any theories as to why launchers are coming back all of a sudden?

A sidearm for magfed mostly appeals to me for CQB and also for if my air tank runs out in longer games. My EMF100 isn't overly long or heavy, but it isn't always ideal. It also just seems like it would be fun.

I like that more .50 pistols are coming out because they're a much more reasonable size and have a better capacity compared to the .68s which are basically the size of a Desert Eagle. They've also been better priced too.

The Roscoe cylinders are just more expensive in Canada I guess. It's about $7 CAD per Umarex cylinder and about $17 CAD per Roscoe cylinder (without taxes). The Umarex also comes with more cylinders out of the box.

Nova is first and foremost a T shirt cannon company (even before their first foray into paintball) so the launcher isn't much of a stretch for them.

Also Behind the Bunker did a livestream at PBX that featured the .50 pistol and many other items.
