    Galactic Mag Body

Does anyone have any experience with the "galactic" mag bodies that apparently have a rubber component after the breach that creates backspin on the ball? Superman recently posted a video of one.

...i do. I actually made a replacement rubber piece for the one that was in that body.

Oh wow. I was kind of wondering about that old rubber degrading over time. Can you add one of these features to another body?

That would be a chore for sure. I would pass on the project. I know there are more bodies out there.

What is the story on the body. Who made it? I don't even really know what to search

They're not too uncommon, called a Z Body. Spin feature doesn't do much and you need to use a massively overbored barrel (they came stock with a big bore barrel IIRC)

I'm sure just about any old cocker barrel would work well today.

And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

there was also supposed to be a version of these available that came with a centerflag frame IIRC. They were to be the mag counterpart for the NPS/shocktech/bbt vortex. I don't remember if it was Ravi or warpig that had the web page for it and can't find it righ now.

It was s take on airsoft hop-ups. I never owned one, but everybody says they didn't work real well. You're probably better off buying an Apex or something.

They do work, but finding consistent paint to use it today may be more of an issue.

There were lots of backspin systems before the Flatline/Apex. Like this Galatic-Z, or the Undertow, and the CooperT Maximizer. plus, a few companies made barrels with uneven porting, to also create the backspin, at least in theory. Those barrels never seemed to do anything. A few paintgun companies claimed backspin from the factory, though dubious.

I had the CooperT system on a bunch of guns in the early 90s. Those all worked perfectly. The trick was an overbored and SHORT barrel. It helped to have a few different barrels for different paint, thick shelled paint was best- ie RP SuperShell, since they did break more paint then normal bolts. A fun novelty

When it first came out, they had a huge barrel available, .697 or so made by CP if I recall correctly. It does work with the sewer pipe barrel, but I have not messed with one in years. With paint smaller these days a huge overbore barrel is pretty easy to find.
