New BST rule number 9, number 9 number 9

Added a new rule 9.... Once your item is sold, edit the title or original post to indicate it is Sold. Or so help me Velcor will frown on you forever.

I have literally opened about 200 threads the past couple of days ready and willing to offer someone money. In some cases $250!!!! Only to find out 10 posts in that the item is sold or in some cases I've reached out to find out the item is sold bc it wasn't indicated in the post.

Go back and edit your damn thread SOLD and if possible edit the title to indicate the item has been SOLD.

That is all.

edit: the other management have indicated you peasants can't edit the title.... So edit the damn original post.

He he he yup. As long as they leave their price, that's good. It's always a headache when you're trying to find a price to list something and all the old listings just say price:sold

I'm trying to update one of my sales threads to conform to the new rule #9, and the one thing I cannot seem to alter is the title. There's a good chance I'm overlooking something, help please?

Edit the first post and there is a field to change the title of the whole thread. It should be available to blue and green members

If you started the thread, edit the first post and there is a field to change the title of the entire thread. I have tested this with a blue account.

I can't edit the title either. I am editing my first post of my sale threads and it's greyed out like you can't change it. I'm a green account.

That's my experience. Once someone else posts in the thread, you can't change the title of your thread.

This is a must. I've had times where I received something in the mail that didn't look exactly as pictured, yet there was no more a picture to refer to.

This is the reason I save all the pictures of the items I buy, plus a screen shot of the listing with screen name. Yeah, it's not perfect, but it's better than hoping a random on the internet is going to keep their end of the bargain. Got too many misleading posts around.

OK, after further testing: non-admin accounts do have the ability to edit thread titles, but it expires after a short term and the field greys out. If you make a typo or something, you can fix it immediately, but unless the sale closes in 20 minutes or so, blue and green accounts cannot edit old titles

Until a fix is found, please PM Schmitti and he will be happy to edit the titles for you 😁

At a minimum, indicate in the original post or somewhere in the damn thread that the item is sold.

Would love a rule that asked people to mark threads as sold, BUT that they not delete the original price price in the thread. I hate seeing an old item that sold, wondering how much it is worth or what range it sells for, and then seeing all the pricing info deleted.

Most of the time when I post a "what is this worth?" thread, there is plenty of "sold" data but none of it has pricing to look at.
