    Your favorite hacks & tricks / what do you carry?

    I'm curious to learn what would be some of the helpful stuff you carry with you or have in your gearbag, or any tricks that you've come up with throughout the years.

    I'll start:

    I carry a barrel maid and a microfibre cloth in a pod, which is alway located to my left side on my harness. That way, both the cloth and the barrel swab stay clean and put (they won't fall out of my pockets, etc.). Sometimes I have to swab my barrel when it gets a ton of splash (and in the extremely rare case of a barrel break), or use the microfibre towel to wipe the splash off my lens ('splash', not 'hits'... let's not start rumours here);

    Speaking of harnesses, after losing the contents of two DYE pods the very first time using my HK Zero-G harness, I decided to add a strip of velcro on the lids. I used the Velcro-brand stuff, not the cheaper imitation. I put some heavy-duty tape on the top of the strips, to cover the adhesive back. Never had a pod flip open and drop paint since then;

    In my gearbag, I've got:

    A pod with yet another microfibre cloth. I use that one to polish an already clean lens. The pod can also act as a spare pod if need be;

    A spray bottle with water and a bit of dish soap to clean my lens and my gear. I keep a small towel with it to wipe my gear clean;

    A kit with: a spare barrel plug, a set of ball-end hex keys, a paintball sizer, a spare 9v battery and 3 x AAs (for my Rotor).

    Lastly, I have a folder on my phone with many paintball manual PDFs.

    Beyond what you have listed: Tank orings, a foot of macro line, macro fitting orings, gun lube, and a utility knife to trim the airline square.

      Tank o-rings. Got to add that to my kit, good one.
      I also keep grease and spares in my respective gun bags.

    I have a divers bag that my dirty clothes and gear go into before I get in the car. Having a big garbage bag or 2 helps keep the car clean.

    I always have some FogDoc lens cleaner and anti fog as well.

      Same, though mine is probably less durable as it's a waterproof "stuffsack" from REI

    I cut down a microfiber and shove in my pocket since a full size is too big. Old JT drawstring goggle bag to hold 10 round tubes. Big drawstring laundry bag to throw all the dirty stuff.

    And one of these, which has saved the day more than once.

      I've got a squirrel sack too. They're great. I'll also stuff it in my caddy to take up space and pad paint at the end of the day

    I play alot of single shot, and I like to keep a micro fiber in my dump pouch full of balls (my ball sack if you prefer) so I can keep my fingers clean and dry to hand load paintballs. Its also nice if I gotta clean my lense between back to back rounds.

      Ah, so you use it to prevent sweaty balls in your sack and to clean your fingers after playing with your balls. Very handy!

    Swiss army knife, hex key set, 1 foot of macro line, air tool oil, and tank orings, and another complete, working, classic AGD valve assembly. If the problem cant be fixed with tools on hand, I swap the valve out with the backup.

    This is absolutely why I love AGD. They. Just. Work.

        I carry a pair of medical scissors with me. They will cut through just about anything and the edge is nubbed so you aren't likely to impale yourself. Also always having non-clorox wet wipes in the bag is super handy.

          On long weekends I'll keep a small pack of those face wet-wipes in the cooler. Feels so good at the end of a hot day to wipe all the sweat, dust, and dirt off with a cool one.

        A shower squeegee for cleaning my goggles and a canning funnel for filling pods.

            Yep, and I like to keep a cheap pencil sharpener in my gear to round the edges so it doesn’t chew up orings when inserting it into the fitting.

          #12
          Similar, I use two spare pods to carry my pull-through squeegees amd barrel swabs in my gear bag.

          On media days I can roll up a smaller micro-fiber and put it in the squeegee pocket to clean stuff off quickly.

          I wear a backwards hat and usually one of these bump cap inserts in it to help prevent head injuries:

          Linerz Bump Cap Hat Inserts high-quality universal foam and hard shell bump cap hat inserts for light protection against minor bumps, bruises and abrasions.

          Universal Bump Cap Insert with Extra Venting delivers enhanced breathability and up to 35% more crown impact protection.

          Saved me quite a few lumps.

            Pull though squeegee are also great for tying paint bags closed so you don't have a mess in the trunk on the way home.

            Thanks for the links. I just ordered a linerz insert. I've been hit in the head bad the last few times I have gone. This should help.

          I take a folding hand dolly to use in transporting my overweight gear bag along with folding table and chair to staging areas when I can not stage out of the back of my vehicle. Makes rolling over parking lots, trails and grass way easier.

            Now that’s the true MCB spirit! If you haven’t taken a least 2 loads from the car you’re doing it wrong.

            I usually can get it in one go; table goes on first then the bag and finally the folding chair all held on with bungees. I also made a little hollow box so I can leave the bag on the dolly and lay it flat on the little box so the bag is level and off the ground. The little box slides right over the handle while dragging to the staging area.

          These are GREAT ideas! I'm used to 3pod packs, but I have a really cool checkerboard 4pod pack that's just unusual for me. So I think I'm going steal some of your ideas and use the first 3 pods for paint, and the last one for a squeegee and microfiber. Excellent ideas.

            I can easily add a single pod to my battle belt for the "field pod". Excellent. The renegade field I normally play magfed at won't care one bit. 2 shots body, one shot head, no gun hits count. This will be perfect. Why didn't I think of this?

          Mint chill Dude Wipes. Keeps a Baby fresh booty just in case you got to drop a demon seed in the PortaJohn. I especially like the Mint Chill it’s like a menthol cigarette for your chocolate starfish. Also good for cleaning up after playing and the occasional road poops.
