overheard recently..... GAP may start producing paint for dynasty again.....

Trying not to get to excited. Any MCB'ers in the know on this? I do remember picking up GAP paint in Carson right at the factory years ago when we played outlaw ball around Tahoe. They made bath bombs to....and rumors abounded for years the equipment is all still there, and they sponsored Dynasty till their demise, so why the hell not?

I did shoot a case of the Dynasty paint recently - made in Canada, big bored by todays standards and not rolling out of my .687 insert which was quite nice. Banana scented and shot straight as hell too. Very pleased and have another case on the way.

If you were on a pro team with allot of pull, looking for any little advantage, wouldn't big paint, which is proven to go little further with it's bigger mass be something you'd want?

Interesting. On that note, Valken is selling a "custom blend" made in the US with claims of high quality. 70/case from their site. I'm curious, especially now that s field here allows BYOP I've just learned

All I can say is I’ve shot a bunch of the Dynasty banana paint recently. HUGE bore size, flies straight, and consistently breaks on target even in high humidity. Legit some of the best paint I’ve shot in years.

Absolutely. I can't believe how nice that paint has been shooting lately. If I weren't such a stubborn Yankee I'd dump the rest of my Graffiti and only shoot Dynasty.

in vegas GAP was our local supplier and my favorite paint, i remember when it used to be 2500 balls in a case with them, 2 big bags of 1250

i miss their paint. even though there no store here anymore that aren't also fields so i feel like will also affect things

I'm curious about the banana paint too now. My only recent experience with Valken is the Fulda Gap games, but it has performed well there.
Paint from 2 years ago still shoots decent without breaking.

Valken has been horrible. GI meh at lest it breaks. Pro Sar is great if you can shoot the brittle stuff. I will definitely be picking up some Dynasty paint if it shoots good on the west coast.

Dynasty, when we can get it, has been great up here as well.

The Valken stuff made in the US (under the Victory Gelcaps name) is the old APX factory that Mike Hinman used to own/run. Supposed to be pretty good stuff.

Valken graffiti we getting on the east coast is hard as a rock. It don’t break unless close and hits a hard surface.

GI super inconsistent but it at least breaks. The fill is really good tho.

Just to be clear, the current Dynasty paint is made in canada still. - reasonably sure its done at GI sportz. ( i don't think there are any other plants in canada) and the bags in the box are the same. whatever spec Dynasty gave them was a high one though, cause its better and bigger than any GI branded paint that i've used.

The rumor is that someone with dynasty is attempting to purchase or get the old GAP facility running again to make their paint instead of GI

I could see dynasty feeling out the market by having GI make the paint at first. with a good product and some momentum maybe scaling it by starting up the GAP facility again and having better control over quality. one can dream anyway.

I really don’t care who makes it someone has to do a better job. It’s all garbage lately.

gap was owned by one richard fraige...

alex plays on the team, not sure why it would be terribly hard to put the right people in touch with the right people

I believe GAP became APX also knows as Victory Gel Caps which was recently purchased by Valken. Unless dynasty is going to change sponsorship from JT/GI next season. Something tells me this is a bad game of telephone. GI is making there own version (Dynasty paint) of the Banana ball that was once made by GAP.

Well nuts, sadly your buzzkill of a story does make allot of sense. Did some searching around to see what became of GAP and found nothing beyond the letter posted to their website in 2009 announcing a temporary closure due to the economy. That thread ran on PBN for another year and indicated it never recovered.
APX could easily and quietly scooped up the assets without much fanfare.

Alright - I guess the amateur reporter and lover of good paint in me just had to follow this to some sort of end. from a very good source - the building was sold in 2020 when richard died. Kore is currently renting the facility from the new owner " i believe they are producing paint or plan to"

with that info i found a press release from Kore itself august 2022:

In our continued efforts to better service our customers, Kore Outdoor is opening a new West Coast distribution point. Located just outside of Carson City. The warehouse is less than 40 miles from Reno, Nevada, and will serve as a 1-day ship point from almost anywhere on the West Coast.
Kore Outdoor will continue our commitment to paintball by reinvesting in the market and should have more exciting news in the coming months
Kore Outdoor Inc., formerly known as G.I. Sportz, is the largest manufacturer of paintballs and paintball gear in the world, with origins that date back to the early 1980’s when paintball first began.
Kore is a conglomeration of some of the most prominent brands in paintball together in one company spread out over 11 locations in four countries. Our company consists of 250 full-time employees worldwide, producing billions of paintballs annually, and is famously known for our popular brands: Tippmann, Empire, JT, G.I Sportz, Spyder, Vforce and more.
                      Address:
                      Kore Outdoor
                      10121 hwy 50 east
                      Mound House, NV 89706

So the rumor could be true. Whether they make paint there or will at some point ........ it is the old GAP facility adress , GI/ Kore does sponsor Dynasty, and did bring back the banana ball, and why chose to rent that specific building in butt hole nowhere Carson when they could have rented any warehouse in Reno.......

of course just because your using the old GAP equipment doesn't mean your going to get GAP paint automatically......

I'm optimistic and prefer to hold out hope!
