    Smaller Tanks

I have been thinking about down sizing my 77/4500 to a first strike 17/4500 or an HK 36/4500. I am curious the number of shots I can expect? I know this will depend on which marker is being used so let me know number of shot and type of marker you are using. I am also interested in thoughts on smaller tanks.

    thanks for the info!!!

I get 100-120 off of a 15/45 with a 2k2 sniper. I could probably sweet spot the reg and squeeze a little more out, but I would bet the 17 would get me another 20-30.

Cannot recall shot counts on other markers at the moment.

The hardest thing is getting a proper 45k fill. At most of the fields I play it's 41k HOT, settles to 36k.

As far as feelings on small tanks… At the end of the day it comes down to your typical play day. Do you play quick turnarounds near the air station, or are you playing big games with a long Walt to staging? Are you loading a 50 round hoper and carrying two pods or are you sporting a rotor and a 4+5 pack? If your load out is light and or your air is convenient then small tanks are awesome

Oh I have moved completely to 10 round tubes. Maybe carry 200 rounds of tubes. Easy access to air stations.

I run a 13/3k on my springfed prolite with 10x 10 round tubes for reloads and I never worry about air when the air station is nearby. I think with a 17/45 and something more efficient then a 30 year old blowback you will be good. Find the smallest tank you find ergonomic for you with that loadout.

Yeah. The 17/4500 first strike is probably close to the right length. Been eyeing the HK 36/4500 but i suspect that it is too short.

I run a Ninja 45/4500 on my semis & can very comfortably shoot a loader + 3 tubes (what I usually carry). I wouldn’t want to use anything smaller on a semi. I find the 45/4500 to be just a tad longer than my 15/3000 that I use for pump, so definitely small & light enough to move easier with but not small enough to where I’m afraid to run out on the field. A good compromise IMO. I don’t want to have to keep track of my shots or limit myself based on my tank.

But for pump? Sure, I’d rock a 15 or 17/4500. I just can’t justify the price for one.

For pump I liked the 17ci with tennis ball. But I need long stretched out. I just use a SL2 77 on everything, with a Powerhouse long body reg plus Ninja reg extender. I'm a long boy so I need a long tank setup.

Peanut tanks are my favorite, but I'll use my 15/45 for stick feed walk on days. Once all my peanut bottles expire I want to try one of the 36/4500 lil cuties

I’m just thinking…. Reduce the size and weight over everything. I moved to 10 round tubes. Carry about 20 tubes. My tm40 is pretty air efficient. The 77 sl2 I use isn’t bad. It fits correctly. But slightly heavy, but it is drastically lighter than a virtue hopper loaded down and carry 4 full sized pods.
