Another cool double-barrel to add to the list, though.

    Doc.
I kind of doubt too old, this is on the orthos page, #5 caught my eye

15 years ago would have been 2008, so he would have had to have been getting training on app building basically at the start of smart phones to even consider this for a home project but these days it's much more accessable

But have you guys thought about his list of skills?

    Airsmith
    Machinist
    Circuit board design and building
    Programming

At a minimum, most of us around here have a few of these but not all.

Pump build is basically an undercocking Trracer with, cocker threads, more durable internals, Tippmann detent, and one piece aluminum 45 grip frame. The pump everyone wants but no one makes

Yeah he said they are for sale but I haven't been able to find them anywhere in the 10 minutes I had between doctors and kids today

-Entirely true. Again, not trying to put the guy down or anything, just pointing out that it may be old enough the guy's gotten out of the sport. (That's a 2002-2007 Honda CR250, and a late-90s/early-2000s Chevy S-10, for example.)

That said, I hope he's still interested enough to swing by and say 'hi', and maybe give us some more info on those guns- and better yet, maybe a shooting video or two.

To be fair, many of us here are interested in markers from the 80s and are still playing

Hell the newest marker I play with regularly is 2012. I'm pretty sure those empire traccers he has are newer

He does seem to like co2 though. Wonder if that's a availability thing

Those Empire Trracers came out 13 yeas ago! Time flies. I doubt they made them for all that long before discontinuing since the market was so limited.

Honestly from a tinkering aspect co2 to me is just more fun but yeah, probably an availability thing

God, I wish they'd bring back that Trracer. There's no good, cheap pumps available these days and even old Kingman Hammers are commanding $125+ on eBay these days.
If they were to bring back the Trracer with a shorter, .678 barrel and an Emek-style Gas-through-grip it would make me so happy.

I remember seeing those stainless Trracer bolts for sale on eBay about a decade ago. The stock bolts had a tendency to wear out their sear lips and going stainless was a solution.
I bet this guy was the source.

I suspect there was more than one. I remember someone selling them on here as well.

The problem I had with the Empire version is the BT style feed kills visibility down the gun and the pump handle, while beefier than the original, had some flex to it. I tried swapping it onto my classic Trracer but it added a bit of slop. The best thing about the classic Trracer was the super crisp and smooth pump stroke. It makes using Phantoms disappointing. If someone could get the details of the Trracer right it would be the gold standard of Nelsons.

The main thing I didn't like about the 'new' Trracer was those damn Picatinny rails. If I'd had the capacity to injection-mold (or reliably 3D print, I guess) I'd have made a smooth Bushmaster style pump handle.

I thought it was a neat feature. Used it to put a little KSG-style Magpul foregrip on mine. Plus they were ahead of their time- top-of-barrel rails are perfect for mounting these newfangled ScopeCams.

As an owner of many Empire Trracers, the rail/feed system is definitely it's biggest issue. They were trying to go for the BT mark, so I kinda get it.

Removing it and putting a different feed helps. I don't have many issues with the pump handle, but it is bulky.

I think they are ideal for single shot first strike.
