Well I never thought I’d see the day when someone made an attachment to actually break balls. This seems like a really dumb idea. Would this not leave the shooter potentially covered in pepper ball spray from a very close proximity?!
Don't like pepper spray because it goes everywhere?
Shoot pepper balls!
Want to make the shot pattern the whole room?
Turn the balls into spray!
Personally I still think the entire idea behind pepper balls and "less than lethal" in regards to rebranded paintball products is really dumb but if people want to risk their own lives who am I to judge.

Why not just make a pneumatic super soaker filled with weapons grade hot sauce? It sounds like a much easier thing then trying to force pepper balls into this role
So break the pepper balls open less than 2 feet from your own face? Seems logical
No less logical and thinking a 43 or 50 caliber pepper ball traveling at speeds slow enough to not do serious damage to an eyeball will actually stop and intruder

It's a pepperball accessory, not for actual paintball. The idea here is that yes, the pepperball is used in close-range self-defense. The bad guy rarely stands 30 feet away and patiently waits for you to aim and fire.
No, what usually happens is the bad guy is threatening you directly- very often within arm's reach. Very few muggers stand out at the 50-yard line and shout "stick 'em up!"
A pepperball at close range is more impact damage than pepper deterrent. This device shatters the ball, so you're blasting a spray/cloud of the 'pepper' dust, which can have more effect at very close range.
At which point, skipping the ball and just using pepper spray seems to make WAY more sense. Wider disperal pattern, less dependent on aim, can hang in the air forming a barrier, far more compact, and much easier to maintain.
I believe Trbo put it best. It's a roundabout way to get pepper spray. So just get pepper spray if that's what you want. And paintball derived products for self defense are just silly. You're not justified in using this unless you are being threatened with serious bodily harm, in which case, why are you using a less-lethal weapon?
