    Fewer On/Off ASA Options?

Sadly it looks like CP is no longer making their on/offs, and there is not much out there for new stock... all I can seem to find is either the POPs or ID ones. I like the POPs over the ID (had mixed results with these), hard to get the POPs in anything other than dust black. I love the beefiness and robust build of the CP rail mounted on/offs, and you could get them in nice gloss ano, including the gloss black. I suppose the market is thinning out, it's too bad. Thoughts? Any other options out there that I'm not aware of?

I will say that for longevity the ID ones are likely better than the pops ones. The ID ones use standard macro fittings and will accept braided lines. The PE ones use a macro fitting with a 10-32 thread to hold it on with an oring. just a heads up.

Unfortunately you are right though, most markers don't need aftermarket on/offs anymore. I too really like the cp ones. Hate the bob long gear drives. I know alot of people also like the DP on/offs, it was likely the only thing they made that people actually liked. ha.

Fair point on the ID/PE ones... I think one of my ID on/offs had some issues with machining, the other one works fine. I also really liked the DP design, too bad those aren't around.

Give Julie a call. She’s found some stuff for me once or twice over the years that wasn’t shown on their website anymore.

I think she retired or was trying to retire a couple of months ago.

I tried calling her a few weeks ago and the line was disconnected.

Ebay still has some cp on/offs, forget what colors wernt available though, just ordered a dust green mini on/off to see if it would match my green trilogy, they don't have many options for their rails though, but I mean a rail is a rail as long as it works right lol

We just need to have on/off's on the tank regs like Centerflag did with the 420 SV regs.

Well that made me curse quite loudly as a bloody reflex. I value both the rail mounted one and the direct mount ASA quite highly.

Where did this news come from? And if ASAs are being phased out, due to not being needed on the makers of today - will CP discontinue the HPRs as well, for the very same reason?

I can’t imagine there is a big market for ASAs or regulators or drops or rails anymore. I really hate the lack of customization on newer guns.

I use direct mount CP ASAs on everything, they have been super reliable for me. I really appreciate most CP products in general, they're not fancy, but they are ruggedly functional.

I dislike the CP ASAs for the side-mounted macroline fitting. My favorite are the Angel/Macdev/Vanguard ones with the front fitting and knob. I've also been looking for them and haven't found many options besides POPS and IDs.

Is anyone making macroline adapters that essentially put a macroline output on currently available on/off ASAs for hoseless guns? E.g. EMEK on/off or Dye Slap. I currently don't have a need for another ASA, but later one when these will probably be even harder to find and ID and PE versions are NLA, I'd probably just make one of these for myself.

Looking at the Emek for an example, it requires a very particular boss to thread in where the regulator would go, and there's not a great spot to bring the air line out of the ASA except the top (or a very skinny fitting out the bottom). It also has a unique way of bolting to the frame, two bolts near the tank, next to one another instead of inline. It's too wide for most grip frames.

It's probably time to admit we're now "retro", and that sourcing components will feel like replacing vacuum tubes on an old TV.

I laughed my ass off at the retro comment, its very true. I still have Check-it Unimounts on a bunch of my guns, I remember when they were new and fancy lol

I made an adapter block and modded a CP on/off for my Phenom. You could probably easily do the same thing for these hoseless ASA's, and just tap a hole for the hose on the side of it.
