And God turned to Gabriel and said: ā€œI shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.ā€

ā€œBut Lord,ā€ asked Gabriel, ā€œIs this not too generous to these Canadians?ā€

And God replied, ā€œJust wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

      Well, my three - recurring - pitfalls so far are;

1: Buying an entire Automag when it is only one, or possibly two parts on the Mag that I actually want, arguing that since the package price was fair, the part I wanted was basically free.

2: Buying a larger package deals of stuff I don't need, because I can split the package up, sell it and make a profit. Aaaaand then I don't sell it...

3: Buying a single rare part that had a VERY good price - and then I have to build an entire marker around it. And if that one part I found at a good price is a rare/expensive part - the rest of the parts... Well, you do the math, because apparently I stopped just short of math, being satisifed with paintball math.

I struggle with paintball math on shipping shipping, and fuel. I buy a lot on craigslist. I usually keep one item out of the lot, and try to part the rest out to break even, if its some ridiculous item, Ill flip it for profit, but In all cases I omit shipping, and fuel costs from my math. I drive 80 miles to buy a lot. It takes x fuel. I buy said lot for 100 dollars. I sell 3 of the 4 items for a total of 150 dollars into my paypal. Paypal takes their ~$8..

ship one to RI for $15
        One to Florida for $23
And one to Canada for $60.

I just made 50 bucks!! And got a free gun!
I just tagged you in a post I made about a year ago about shipping out packages and how to save some money. It saved me a good amount of money over the years and a lot of headaches

My paintball math is refusing to spend $500 on a gun but spending $900 upgrading a $50 gun because it's "cheaper"

If the gun is under $100 its free. If the part is less than $20 it is also free.

I'm unfortunately in tough area to get out and play. So, that being said my paintball math goes as follows:

              1) 14 markers - time to knock that number down and get them to people that'll use them as they should.

              2) 4 sold 1 traded - good job, yay me.

              3) Still have 14 markers

When I go play paintball,I get myself a bag and pay field fees and count my gas budget and try to bring some snacks from home ā€˜cause I’m trying to keep my ā€œfun expenditure ā€œ to a minimum.
But as soon as I’m bringing one of the kiddos then it’s family bonding time and the bets are off. I’m getting the case, and we’re stopping for dinner. Finished her Gatorade? Whatevs but the $5 field offering. We’re here to have a blast.

Trying to hold off on this with 50 cal. But when the boys get to 68 cal, it’ll be more family leisure money used than just my own leisure funds.

I do the same thing. When my wife plays I get a hotel we get dinner after maybe grab some drinks. But if it’s just me I car camp and eat very little. Usually something quick to hold me over.

I hate to break it to ya, fellas, but I've been doing this as a full time day job for almost 26 years, and I have yet to turn what any reasonable person might call a "profit".

                    Can’t forget this one

Buy a $50 marker and sell it for ā€œwhat I paidā€ but include shipping, so I can buy a $100 marker….and sell it for what I paid, but include shipping and do this 50 times (slowly loosing $15 at a time for medium flat rate boxes) until you work your way up and buy the $XXXX ultra rare autococker with fancy anno (or whatever) to begin with.

THEN justify with yourself in buying 4 more $XXXX markers you don’t need because ā€œit will save you time AND $$ in the long run because, let’s face it, you’re just going buy a bunch of cheap makers and sell them at losses and work your way up to the pricy stuff all over againā€
