Matte black cocker threaded Inception Designs Stella backs are still $10 each from their site. Probably the best value in paintball.

Even with whatever tip you get, still cheaper than getting a Freak back, tip, inserts. And better made, plus longer control bore if you even care about that kind of thing.

Inception site sucks, if you go to the Stella backs and choose the dust black option it changes the price to $9.99.

Sooo I got mine today. I don't believe barrel bores need to be super polished to work, but these Stella backs are a notable step down from most 'high end' barrels I've ever owned. The bores on my Ressi Empire kit are better polished than these backs and Lapco/Dye/PE blows them outta the water.. Additionally there are marks in the bore where the anodizer clearly hung the barrel while processing it (BMC talked about this in a recent video when he was talking about subpar anodizers and how it effects hos work). I'll try to take pics tomorrow in the outdoor light.

I'm not upset, wondered why they were discounted. For $10 they're a steal and they'll shoot just fine. But If i had paid full price for this I would be demanding a refund.

These have been on sale since almost a year ago. I picked some up last year and havne't noticed a huge difference from my lurker barrel. But i can use an apex tip with the stella kit.

I'm personally not worried about it. I'm sure they will shoot just fine. But it does make me worry for Inception's standards. I wanna see Simon's business, along with all the small US based PB companies, succeed.

I have a Lurker's Eigenbarrel 1 piece and 2 piece kit (gen 1). Their bores are much better polished than the Stella. I'll try to take comparison pics of the Eigenbarrel and Empire bores tomorrow as well. I still use his 2 piece barrels as my primary barrel kit.

I wonder if these barrel backs are on sale for the reasons I noticed. I still would have bought them but a heads up would have been nice of that's the case.

It's true that the internal polish isn't quite as good as others, and it seems like from all the many Stella barrels I've owned, the level of polish varies. But I've certainly seen worse.
The stock Emek barrel is shinier inside lol.

I'm not convinced barrels need to be microhoned to perfection either. Maye helps clear barrel breaks? But I rarely attempt to shoot through a break.

I've been using a 3d printed blunderbuss barrel from paintballdna for a year and half at least once every other month. No issues whatsoever, but I'm sure it wouldn't withstand a core sample. Definitely got my 20 bucks worth.

is this a Stella barrel, compatible with those backs? It doesn’t have holes in the back section.

this barrel is unmarked, does anyone know what size unmarked backs are?

I totally feel you autococker04! Same thing happened to me haha I'd suggest checking out the A1 front/tip if you like short barrels!

minimag03 I’ve convinced myself that this barrel will be better than the other ones. I’ll check out some shorter tips for sure, it looked like there were a ton of options on the site.
