    Mask Help

Any suggestions to finish up the cheek area on this mask?

Expanded metal not doing the job?

Some heavy leather could give a pretty unique look, and you could perforate it where needed. Neoprene sheet is another option.

That would be perfect for Thunderdome.

Kydex is easy to work with.

Kydex is a good idea. Easy to mold and resilient

There were foam ears that attached to those bottoms and the frames. I would look for them.

Get some chain mail and cut it to fit.

          To elaborate on flyweightnate's idea....

...use one of the hides from a fallen opponent....😳

I agree with the hide of a fallen opponent.

Or some kydex would be cool.

3/4" wide flat steel jawbones, and leather.

Needs some brass studs for flair.

                    I'd go the leather route.
-Get yourself some thick veg-tan leather from a craft shop or leather shop.
-Make yourself a template out of cardboard, trace and cut the leather with a boxcutter.
-Saturate the leather with water to mold it to your desired shape.
-Once dried, do some finishing touches like punching holes or dying it.
-Then once its all done, dip it into some melted paraffin wax to seal it.
Leather treated in this way can be as stiff and flexible as the hard abs used on most masks. Check out some utube videos on knife sheath making.

Thats probably the direction I'm going to go. I make knives and sheaths so a bit of leatherworkshouldnt be too tricky.

Leather could look very cool but might get heavy
