50 round pods on molle

I'm not into any of the packs currently available for 50rd pods. I'd like to build my own setup on a molle or alice battle belt.

Since there aren't any purpose built options for mini pods, I'd need to use improvised pouches. I'm wondering if anyone's tried this before me and found any that are the right size, retain the pods well, and are ergonomic enough for instant access.

Stanag/AK mag pouches would probably work too. APP also makes 30rd pods which are supposed to fit 3 in an M16 mag pouch.

Grenade pouches are a little too long but will work, I stuck a piece of rag in the bottom to keep the pods in the right position so I could grab them. Alternatively iff you are using the APP tac pods they have bumps on them that are great for providing simple resistance against wide band 4" elastic strap. You can just use a molle hook and loop back and put a simple piece of 4" heavy duty elastic on the molle back. These pods do not need a flap or bottom to stay in place.

Military Style 30 Rd Pods. I like them and have some which I was planning on making some Kydex holders for a battle belt to use with my ShoeLoader hopper. I just never got around to doing the Kydex work.

Grendel yup I've heard of the tac pods, but I'm not sure that they'd work for hook and loop since the lid is wider than the body. The mag pods might be a better option.

That site doesn't look like it's been updated since 1999, any idea if it's safe to order from?

If it shows in stock, safe to order as of maybe a year ago I ordered some 100 Rd and 50 Rd Pods. If out of stock I would not back order, last I heard they are not doing new runs of paintball stuff because they need to make a shitload to make change-over worth it on the presses and they end up sitting on stock. I believe the paintball part is an off-shoot of a bigger molding operation.
