    Best all around hopper

so i have several hoppers, from stick feed to force feed.
looking to downsize some of it. I play stock class, pump, and also shoot electronic and mech. Mostly scenario / walk on games.
I have a Rotor Ltr, Spire 4, 2 Revys and a winny. what do you guys think is the most practical hopper if i were to keep one or two?
Don't play as much as id like and definitely don't play tourney ball anymore.

I’d go with the spire. They feed reliably, they’re lighter than the rotor, and faster than the revies. I’d keep the Winchester as well.

Possibly unpopular answer, I like agitating hoppers for most of my needs. Lighter, no force feed issues, simpler, etc. Of course, depends what and how fast you are shooting.

Revy is my favorite. Rotor is my best.

LTR is heavier but much more reliable. And won't fall apart on you like a Spire.

Revys are all that. For a bit extra the Empire sound activated guts are a bonus.

I love my LTR for anything I need to shoot fast with. I have a modified Winchester but my go to for just about any rec hopper play is a JOLO. It feeds plenty fast enough for a light weight mech/Pump play.

Does your electro have eyes? If not, I would keep the rotor (as mentionned, bulletproof simple to use, good battery life), If it has eyes, the revy could work if you don't need to shoot fast.

I usually use a revy for all my mech gun with good results

For OC pump, all depend if you want to carry a lot of paint or not. I would personally use the Winny in this case.

I love the revvy but I did find I could out shoot it with a modern modified mech. I needed something a lil fast for that particular setup. But the revvy makes a great powered hopper especially for detent less setups. With its agitated feed its less likely to push to much paint like say a force fed LTR / Rotor.

Not all winny’s are created equal. I love my good one and no amount of sanding has yet to improve my bad one.
I heart revys too but I’m all mech and pump.

If you cut the feedneck you just ruined your Winchester. Stack pressure is key. You also need a modified lid that adds capacity for the paint to shake around. I like a lock lid it gives the hopper enough room to take a full 50 round pod. I melt the pin holding the lever so it mushrooms out and hold the lever better. Then I use 3 x 1/4” binding posts. Some use glue I like to keep mine replaceable because the latch that lock them closed do go bad over time. The feednecks often split a thin piece of packing tape works great from keeping it from getting worse. Mines been split for 15+ years. Stock Winchesters feed like crap. Also if you lift the hopper up in the feedneck so that the last ball in the stack is half in the hopper and half out it will feed way better. This goes for any shake and shoot.

@chuck e duck ya I never cut feednecks, bad news lol. My bad winny literally had a flat spot in the mold at the top of the few neck. I’ve sanded it out but it still feeds a lot worse than my other one.

Oh that stinks must have just gotten a flawed one. I got mine feeding really well. But had to put a ginger Dynamics cover on it to keep it from smashing all my hopper paint when shot. It still will with a close direct shot. But it’s a lot better now. My go to is the JoLo it eliminates all off the problems and feeds amazing. I really haven’t used my Winchester much. I have like 4 JoLo now lol. I love running them on a emek with the FS 2” round tanks it’s the perfect light weight setup for the wife and kids. I’m pretty sure fully loaded It weighs less than my go to SC phantom setup.

if you already have a rotor, Id keep it. one of the revy's, and a winny.. optionally you can pick up one of the gog multi caliber loaders, it will definitely take a hit a lot better than a winny
i prefer winny cause i like having a hopper thats as wide as my tank

id ditch the spire for a spire iR and make the revy and rotor optional if your looking to spend a few dollars and downsize more

I have been nothing but impressed by my gen 1 spire iR.. it handled supergame and playing in the rain for 2 days straight and never gave me an issue

My Rotor or my Shoe Loader with Rotor guts have never let me down but I always keep my old 9VDC Revy in my bag. I have had this loader for over 30 years and have no idea how many cases of paint I have run through it. I have been tempted to try a Spire but really do not have any issues with my Rotors and my Revy so the motivation really is not there to try the Spire.

The way I look at it you have a great herd of loaders I really see no need for you to look any further then what you have and pick the ones that you like the most out of your herd.

I'd hang on to the Rotor for when you want to rip, and the revy for everything else. I have a spire and while it works, it's always my least favorite hopper. None of the old school cool of the revy, and no where need the speed and consistency of a rotor.

Spire/CTRL, unless you're trying to push a really high RoF. They're incredibly reliable and have no issues doing 10.5 bps. I like to not have to fiddle with gear at the field and the Spire just works.

See I feel like I see more issues with the spires and Bk style hoppers then anything else. Maybe my Degent Tournament player Frendsgiving don’t take care of there stuff very well. The amount I have loaned out my back up first gen rotor to spire and BK user has me hesitant to even consider them an upgrade over the basic LTR. They do have a better profile I will give them that and the flexible BK shell is a bit odd to get use to however it is a very durable shell and it’s substantially less weight up top over the rotor. I dislike there speed feed options though. Exalt on a Rotor (the one that Sami’s between the top shell half’s) last a decade + of super heavy use.

Their speedfeeds definitely aren't durable. HK's aluminum speedfeed fixes it though. Its pretty rare for HK to make something truly unique and good, but they really nailed it with the speedfeed.

Rotor all the way. My go-to loaders are my original Rotors. The LT-R is pretty much just an OG Rotor without the windows. You can even buy high capacity top shells for them direct from Dye.

I like how my Spire IR2 is lightweight and lower profile, and really like the Virtue speedfeed, but I very much dislike its tendency to pulse with each shot. I feel that as much as the actual recoil impulse with my Gamma Core markers. I never really feel the Rotors moving unless I'm shooting a long stream. When one-balling the movement is virtually imperceptible.
