    Virtue Ascend Mask/Lenses

So my trusted E-Flex masks are starting to show their age (one has top vent plastic falling apart) and I got both sets at the same time. I like the E-Flex especially how easy the lenses change out and they are pretty comfortable. So before I go down the road of buying a new set of E-Flex I was wondering what the opinions about the Virtue Ascend masks. I got a Black set unused as a partial trade with non-thermal lenses. The lenses look super similar to the E-Flex so change out looks simple. What are you guys experience with these, replacement thermal lenses are ~$50 so not wanting to buy them and then not end up keeping them. Living in South Carolina you have to have thermals so not really messing with them without getting some thermal lenses.

Virtue lens replacements are easy, not as easy as others, but still not bad. All those Virtue and related goggles just sit too close to the face for me and aren't as comfortable as old JT frames/masks

I switched from spectras to the Vio ascend last year after having sinus surgery for a better fit around my nose. So far, I love them. There’s more ear coverage and I like having a one piece mask rather than separate soft ears. Lens change is easy and my thermal lens has held up great. I played a tournament a couple weeks ago in 90+ degrees after a rainstorm and had no fogging issues. Breathability doesn’t initially seem quite as good as a flex, but again after a hot day of tourney ball, I didn’t have any problems. If you like wearing visors, I think virtue’s is great and cheap.

I think it's highly dependent on your face shape. I almost exclusively use Virtue masks and they are extremely comfortable.

Exactly this. I need stuff to be further away from my face

I like them because They sit close to your face. I disliked the Eflex because how far it sits off your face.

Thanks for the feedback. I tried them on a couple times today and they are a closer fit then my E-Flex but not annoying so. I like the foam and it looks easy to replace. I accidentally put them on while still wearing my glasses and they fit great and my glasses were in a comfortable position. That has not been common for me with other goggles. I do not need glasses to play but I do like to have them on when tech-ing or at the chrono since my distance vision is perfect I just can not see to read up close so this is nice. So I am ordering a set of Thermal Lenses and giving them a try next time out.

I love my virtue masks. The HD lenses are just as good as Dye’s and the Virtue are way more durable lens and mask included. Also most all of the parts are interchangeable. I run the BK foam ears and lens on my VIO because I wanted the cool maroon frames with the fancy hardware.

The Ascend are just hard ear versions of the same mask. Ascend come in two types single pain and dual pain. Obviously Dual is the way to go. But they will take any of the higher end lenses to like the HD fade they are killer for woods play. Standard HD is 2nd to none it makes paint so easy to spot even dark shell in the woods.

I picked up a pair of Ascends from Shaftski a while back for my son matches his Phantom to.

Keep in mind that the Vio's and BunkerKing CMDs share lenses, and they have different tints/mirror colors under the two different brands.

Those BK lenses are the ones I was talking about. HD fade is probably my favorite woods lens.

I ordered the High Def. Yellow lenses. I have always like yellow or rose lenses I always feel I can see shapes and such better in the woods. Not a fan of mirrored lenses, too many times I have seen players in cover due to seeing reflection off the mirrored lenses.

I retired a Flex 8 for BK masks in 2022.

The quality is excellent. Changing lenses is simple. The fit suits me well .

I pretty much did the same. I have a big flex collection and use them regularly I like the old school look and they are super comfortable. But if it’s raining, moist, or I need something that just gotta work every time and never fog. The VIO/BK check that box.
