To Facebook or not to Facebook

I don’t have Facebook, nor do I want it, but I’ve got a marker I need to move and get the most I can for. Have always wanted to do all paintball business on MCB, but the need for funds are close to outweighing the principle.

Question is, are markers moving on Facebook? Specifically thinking about the CCM BST group I’ve heard mention of.

My experience with dealing PB stuff on FB (buyer only) has been hit or miss. Some transactions have gone well but others the communication has been horrible or hostile. I have counted myself lucky that I have not gotten burnt but I have also decided I will no longer deal on FB. I have my FB account to keep up with family (siblings/nieces/nephews) are spread all over the world so FB serves for that but I hate the interface and wished I had other options.

For all the good Facebook is for selling there's also a lot of scumbags lately.

Selling on FB is a pain in the ass. It is my last move, but it has the biggest audience.

This. I hate selling on Facebook, but sometimes it’s a necessity. I’ve actually sold more on Reddit than Facebook.

Buying and selling on FB is a pain, the 2 times iv bought what were supposed to be working markers they turned out to have bad noids and were paper weights so I wasted my hard earned cash, or they only want to deal with venmo or F&F paypal, that and the scammers are just crazy and they will blow you up trying to sell you a marker they don't even have nor can even explain it or the parts on it

I post stuff here and on Facebook and things typically move quicker over there since it reaches a far wider audience. If you ever think about buying anything though, do legit check. Tons of scammers and I've become a pro at spotting them when it's not super obvious. Shitty downside of BST-ing on Fbook.

Appreciate the input all. May give it a go out of necessity and just cross my fingers and hope for the best.

FB is abhorrent to sell on from a user/interface perspective. Add to that the scammers, the back/forth, the nickle/diming... I'll just pay the ebay fees thank you.

Facebook is the move if you want to get the most money out of your item and quickly.

People just hate that’s it true since it’s the root of all evil.

This probably goes without saying but make sure you use G&S as a buyer. Plus side is, it’s not really a rule as a seller, to save some change.

also- you can still do legit checks on people.

If you need a middle man, I can always post it for you and give an email address or something to complete the deal/ or whatever would help. I’m always lurking in the Facebook trenches, so no big deal.

good luck with whatever you decide!

If I can’t convince my wife to let me use her account, I’ll probably take you up on that. Appreciate it.

Depends on what you're selling. If your audience is here, sell it here. Otherwise, FB works. I have sold a ton there, and it's where I can move a high end cocker in literally an hour. It wouldn't go as quick here bc I know exactly who the people are that will drop 3k on a cocker in a heartbeat, and they're over there. It's just a much wider net, by design.

#1 to get the most for your marker , Ebay , just list it higher to cover fee's
#2 MCB. Not a whole lot BST traffic, lots of reminiscing about back in the day responses, but always worth a shot.

Good point, going to list it on Ebay as well. Facebook is as you’ve described so far.

Welp, no luck on Facebook or Ebay. Didn’t do an auction on EBay so that could be part of it. Not to mention the higher price to offset fees.
Also don’t know how to re-up a post on Facebook. Nuked the listings and just sticking with MCB. Too much junk and annoyances on both those sites.
