    Lets talk tank regs

Been in and out of the game for the last few years so I'm not up and up on all the new trendy gear. 3 years ago I got my old tank hydro tested and replaced the Ninja reg on it with another Ninja reg. I've always been a fan of Ninja. Long story short, the reg is toast now. I'm debating what I want to do since it is now my back-up tank. I found an HK Army reg on Lonewolfpaintball for $35 that looks fairly decent. Does anyone have experience with the HK Army HP8 Alpha Air reg? I'm leery of buying that cheap of a reg but if it works fine for a back-up that's all I care about. Or should I just bite the bullet and get another Ninja reg?

First off what do you mean the ninja reg is toast? How did you kill a reg in less time than a hydro?

Well first it was leaking from the valve so I rebuilt it. Seemed to be holding air just fine. Then I cross-threaded it into the asa on my gun.

Ninja regs are still great and even brand new are typically less expensive than the other popular option of Powerhouse. Powerhouse regs are great, if you have the cash go for it. But a Ninja will still perform just as good.

Tank regs are now coming in different lengths which is great, I'm all about th extended/long bodies.

Only Ninja Regs I have not been satisfied with are the ones that used a ball valve. They did not engage well with some On/Offs and they leaked down for me quite quickly. If you have an issue with a Ninja reg they are very rebuildable. I would rebuild a reg I already have then by a new one.

pirhana92 If the only issue with the Ninja reg is that you cross-threaded it (as you said in an above comment), you should be able to simply replace the bonnet. Ninja sells replacements, you shouldn't need a whole new regulator.

If you like to be able to adjust easily adjust output pressure and have an adjustable bonnet the Ninja ProV2 is the way to go in my opinion. Powerhouse regs are good but they're more expensive and the output pressure can't be lowered once raised unless the guys are replaced. I run the ProV2 with pin valve on all three of my tanks.
