    What's a good CO2 regulator these days?

I know there's Palmer's but I'm honestly not a huge fan of the design. If it's my best option then I'll still go with it but I'm curious if there's any others out there people would recommend?

Empire sniper with an agd 6pak if it matters.

stock reg is not happy running CO2 anymore.

I really like the older WGP pre set ones personally ,but that’s me.

They are solid regulators, might be a pain to get setup at the pressure you are looking for but they are rock solid once there.

I wonder if you could just swap the deals with urethane and be good again?

I know some people like Sidewinders for CO2 but I've only used PPS. I run HPA or unregged on everything.

You want something that can bleed off, like palmers or wgp. Not many do.

I really don't like those. I understand they are reliable I just hate having to take them apart to change pressure

The regulator seat is what died. It was already urethane. It's probably a combination of age and CO2 but the regulator also has a vent portion which I really don't care for Ave I think that was part of the problem

I really don't care for a bleed off feature. I think it makes the regulators more complicated than they need to be. If anything not venting would be preferred. Yes the 6pak has a check valve but it doesn't always work great on mine so if the regulator will keep some pressure downstream that would probably help the whole system be more efficient

The Empire Sniper reg is a clone of the older WGP regs except for the bleed valve, so you could replace the reg seal with one that doesn't have the small hole down the middle and it should work.

Good to know! Thanks for the heads up on that

I wondered this same question about my Sniper. In the end I installed Palmer’s “low turbulence” valve and just went without a reg completely.

do you have a build thread for that one?
whats your shot count per 12g like?

I don’t have a build thread really, but I did make a bunch of whiny posts here and there about my Sniper not working. I’ll try to get a shot count in the next day or two. It’s 12g powered at the moment.

I think PPS has a high and low pressure “low turbulence” valves. I had direct 12g success with the high pressure variant, but it can still be a bit finicky.

If your main gripe with the WGP regs is the adjustability you could try an Ergo or Black Magic, they are the same internally as far as I know.

For now I'm leaning towards replacing the sniper regulator seat with a WGP one. I don't care for the vent and eliminating it may actually help my efficiency anyway. Plus I think the reg seat having a hole in it is what started the deterioration anyway. Thanks tyronejk for that piece of info.

The sniper regulator is still not my favorite but a few bucks to get it up and running again is a pretty good solution over dripping $100 on a new regulator

For trouble free CO2 operation a Palmers stab is the way to go.

In reality any regulator as long as you have a way to avoid liquid co2 from getting in and an adjustable pressure blow off
