This is like, a titanium ASA right?

Shocktech tried and true ASA On/Off with Dovetail mount.   This on/off had been in use at Badlands Paintball park for 20 years filling Co2 tanks. So if it can survive that, you bet it will last on your gun.    NOTE:  Shocktech USA cannot guarantee fitment and or performance in any other manufacture bodies.  Nor can we

What am I missing here? Why do they think an on/off ASA is worth $150?

    And it's not even anodized

Maybe they are doing the ebay seller thing of pricing way high hoping some sucker will want it bad enough.

      Works for CCM.

They didn't sell them separately from their guns and probably got sick of people asking about them... Less a price point more of a "eff you price"

That being said I sold an old model one for $80 used recently

only explanation I can really come up with would be US machined, low runs, and multi axis CNC. Pretty much everything else ST makes other than their markers is pretty much just something cut on a lath other than maybe a few cuts on the 3 ways and those are simple 3 axis.

But yeah, pretty stupid price. I had considered one for my build but the EZ on/off and a POPs rail was still notably cheaper.

These are cut on a 5 axis mill, but i think still requires 2 ops. It just comes down to how much it costs to run the machine. I am sure they could have made one in a different shape cheaper. They didn't and yet people still want to buy them at that price.

yeah I mean if I wasn't already spending an absolutely stupid amount of money on my build I would have probably seriously considered it haha. They do look nice, not sure how I feel about the side ported fittings (especially since I would have to track down a CCM style macro to match the rest of the build so that jacks the cost up more) compared to most of the more modern ASAs but its also a lot more straight forward of an on/off mechanism.

Shocktechs parts are made in the USA unlike any of their competitors (made in chinA). I know the factory in chinA that make most of the paintball parts, and if you saw what the $ markup is you would be sick. The average cost to make a milled autococker body in chinA (body, FB, BB, VASA) anodized is around $35 shipped ( Worlite)

As for Shocktechs price the ON/OFF and the Gunfighter frame are the two most expensive parts they make. Talking to Danny and Mark, the body of the ON/OFF is done on a 5 access mill to save cost. All the round parts Shocktech makes are done at Swiss-screw shops in runs of 10,000 pcs.

Now I agree the side fitting on the ST ON/OFF it not as modern as in appearance as the others. But what it lacks on that look aesthetic it out preforms in function. The infinite adjustable screw in allows for less flow restriction due to the ability to open the pin valve all the way. ID, PE, NOVA & Dye all have set pin depression level that require a new part to change the length of the pin. In many cases (ID EZ and NOVA on offs) while in the off position will depress the valve pin and gas up the marker.

Now the standards of tank reg threads and pin valve heights are all over the place and not consistent IME.

With all that said, buy what you want its a free country.....for now.
