    Anyone messed with gel blasters?

Wasn't really sure which section to put this in so here it is. Admins feel free to move it if you think it needs moving

Anyone messed with gel blasters at all? My daughter is almost 5 and has shown a lot of interest in paintball but I'm not convinced she is ready for even 50 cal yet. So I thought about gel blasters, anyone messed with any particular brands or models? I know almost nothing about any of them

Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

I use Tapatalk which does NOT display comments. If you want me to see it, make it a post not a comment.

I own several gel blaster branded blasters the Pistol sized ones and a couple of the Surge rifle, I also have a Nerf brand gel blaster. Their in inexpensive to buy, and you can get like 34billion gel beads for next to nothing. We had a bunch of kids up for my sons birthday a couple summers ago and they just went to town blasting each other for hours.

I did have the kids wear mask though (eye pro is needed or adults also) because they can smart a bit if hit in the face.

I bought an $8 nerf one.... Shoots far and kills spotted lanternflys at a decent distance. So I guess it's accurate too.

Today me and the kids are going to be messing around with a Nerf Gel Fire Mythic blaster. These shoot those little gel balls that look like fish eggs. 431F4A69-E151-426F-BBFC-BED56008DA6B.jpeg Here is what you get (plus a pair of safety glasses and a second pouch of balls - both not shown) Features: Battery operated

I bought one for my nephew, but my sister was a lame, so gave it to my youngest daughter who is now 7 and she loves it. Ammo is cheap, store it in a water bottle with some water and lasts a while. Easy to shoot and fun. Do it!

That's the Nerf one we have also. It's a solid performer.

ID:	614424Hell yeah they are awesome. I got like 10 of them now they are cheap as dirt to shoot. Practicing our drive bys with the kids. One Easter my Grandmother was even out playing with the kids I filled up two 5 gal buckets full of the jellies and they played for like 3.5hrs. Had like 12 kids running around the yard just letting them loose. I do recommend the green ones if you shoot buckets full of them, they are bio degradable and break down eventually.

Oh yeah good old redneck fun right there. The original brand I have, have ported barrels so you could lower the velocity if the kids can’t take the sting. I didn’t tell them just full sent it and they did not like getting shot in the face. But they got over it quickly. I use them to teach both my boys proper snap shooting teneque. They are actually getting pretty good I put the paintball masks on when we practice with them at close range. But all you really need is some good fitting sunglasses or safety shades.

I have no experience with them myself but I have a couple of friends that run a mobile Gel-Blaster business and they are doing pretty good with the private party crowd so I guess the kids like it fine.

Yup. That got my oldest (13) interested in paintball. My youngest (5) was involved in the last gel blasters game at my neighbors and wants his own now. Except for the ‘planning ahead’ with 4-6hrs of soak time, they are awesome. Just enough ‘sting’ to know you were hit but no actual pain.

Oh if you buy them get the jell blaster brand. They are the creators of it. Nurf offered to buy them got there intellectual property then sent it to China to replicate and produce cheaper. Nurfs lawyers will just tie it up in court till the patent runs out knowing they don’t have the money to play the long game. China has already knocked them off with Amazon and Temoo specials.

The jell blaster brand are better quality they even have a long gun that does higher velocity. The battery life is awesome on them to they charge off any USB like a phone charger and they last longe enough to shoot a 5gal bucket of the ammo. For $20 you can make more than you can shoot for the day. Like I said get the green ones so they blend in with your grass.

if they use the Orbeez and you want to make the beads small again, you can put them in a container with 70% iso alcohol. They will shrink back down.
im not sure of the chemistry behind it but i found out by random happenstance. i think i had some alcohol of my own that day.
