Aren't they mostly opaque? I'm curious too, I miss all the fun hopper colors of yore

Well, I think some are white and could be dyed to be pretty wild and retro if you wanted. Not sure how well they take dy or if anyone has any tips

      White shouldn’t be an issue.

I have a few Polycarbonate boards and after loving the coloring offered in the Yeti GB that just ended recently I am looking into possible methods to custom dye/tint one of my boards. I wanted to reach out to the members of the community to see if Someone has experience dying Polycarbonate or similar plastics and I could find some insight on the processes to dye PC Hopefully, if any information comes up, it will benefit both future dye-ers(?) and myself!

Interesting read, I've been looking into this recently to dye Delrin stock.

Interesting, so it based on that it is pretty simple. Thanks for sharing

I’ve not dyed polycarbonate, but I have dyed paintball masks (link). Look up either RIT synthetic dye or iDye Poly by Jaquard. Both companies have a separate dye for organic materials like cotton that won’t work on plastics.

Note that when dyeing, the color of the material (the hopper shell) and the dye will be combined. So a white shell + black dye will result in a grey shell. The longer you keep the material in the dye, the darker it’ll get.

if/when you pursue this please post pictures and describe your process!

Look up marbling dyes/paints, you can get some pretty psychedelic effects

I'm guessing this thread was inspired by the white IR2 that ANS currently has on sale.

I am not sure I saw that one. It may be a good candidate for some dye though

                Hydrodip?

You can do it with spray paint on the cheap

Yeah go find some YouTube videos. You have to use a lot of paint but you don't need anything besides a bucket of water, spray paint, gloves if you want them and maybe some clear coat after it dries
