NxWerks Pistelle X-68 - Another self defence pistol we probably can't use.

Just stumbled across an NxWerks Pistelle X-68 on ebay, so I went to their site.

    Main Page

    Manual

Looks like another .68 "self defense" pistol that probably can't be used for paintball. No mention of adjusting velocity in the manual. I've emailed them and we'll see if they have an answer.

Update: From their customer service rep Sam, "The velocities are not adjustable on the X68s. We are working on a variant model to make them adjustable but that’s going to take a while. "

I sure do feel like the whole “less than lethal” market is headed towards some sort of event…where afterwards there will be so much legislation around them that you may as well have an actual firearm.

“The PISTELLE X-68 is the most powerful .68 cal less lethal pistol on the market.“

Great. So now there’s an arms race up to the (fictional) line of “less than lethal”. Keeping in mind that cops have on occasion killed Americans with Tippmann 98s and pepperballs…these people are now selling .68 steel ball bearings…great! At 390! Awesome.

Who buys this stuff? I’d imagine children and people who have had their firearms taken away from them. Bastard teenagers, idiots and crazy people. Terrific.

Rest assured, the price tag on many of these Less Lethal systems will keep them away from most teenagers. Most cost 3 or 4 times the cost of a similar paintball marker, and almost as much as a real firearm. Almost all of the Less Lethal designs are not adjustable for velocity for liability reasons. The only Less Lethal marker that I have seen that has an adjustable velocity is the VKS. Variable Kinetic System, an upgrade T4.1 marker. As for the other brands, they can be altered to increase or decrease velocity, but this would void any warranty. A large portion of the launchers in this market are actually upgraded paintball marker designs.
Because the Less Lethal launchers dump so much CO2 per shot to achieve the high velocities, the shot capacity and reload time is not particularly conducive to actual paintball use.

Yes precisely for those that the government has disarmed. They have a right to defend themselves.

I'd like to remind you that in most European countries it is illegal for law abiding citizens with spotless records to own any kind of fire arm for personal defense. Rampant crime, violent gangs and home invasions at broad daylight is on the rise though, and quite rightly the average man is getting worried.

Mind you, it won't be long until these gadgets become illegal as well. Our esteemed governments really don't want any law abiding citizens to be armed with anything worse than harsh language. Actually scratch that, over the last years more people have been jailed in Britain than in Russia for what they have said or posted. We're probably down to passive-aggressive Post-Its as a last resort over here.

Not with the CO2 in the grip like that.
Good though that it uses 12grams and not those weird 8gram cartridges the First Strike pistols used. Loading it downwards presumably means it works by siphoning up liquid CO2, like the Umarex guns.

If I was to use something like this if someone broke into my house I'd just air up an electro slap on a pod pack and just dump paint through the house and hope I don't get shot 😂

Lol true use pepper balls and it would probably actually work for self defense. Cant hurt anyone (or breath) with a pound of pepper spray in the air

Those magazines look like they would be pretty cool for custom work, except they're like $45 lol
