    TiPX Quick CO2 Change

Sold my TiPX. Kind of miss it. I didn't like the remote line setup. The 12 grams only provided 12-21 shots depending on the typical factors - weather, paint size, fps setting, quality of cartridge, rate of fire, etc. That wouldn't be too bad by itself, but you have to shoot the gun to drain the cartridge enough to be able to unlock the CO2 cap. I was wondering if anyone ever tried a knurled thumb screw through the CO2 cap in place of the two set/grub screws that are in there? When cartridge is low, instead of shooting it, just back out the thumb screw. This would drain the CO2 in the marker, keeping it a bit quieter. Undo the cap like normal, pop in another cartridge, put the cap back on, and tighten the thumb screw. I'm thinking the squishiness of the 12 gram seal would keep the thumb screw from backing out for the 12-21 shots that it lasts. Anyone ever try this?

Thinking about getting another TiPX to try this. I would carry paintballs in a dump pouch, extra CO2 12 gram cartridges in pockets (another dump pouch, shotgun shell belt, TBD), and only run one Zetamag. While I'm shooting the 10 in the top portion of the mag, I could be reloading the bottom 10 from the paintballs in the dump pouch. No remote line, no vest for extra mags, minimalist setup. Thoughts?

The thumb screw sounds like it may work. The thought of reloading a Zeta mag while still loaded in the marker may be harder than you think. Simply put extra magazines in the dump pouch.

Thanks. I’ll see if I can borrow a friend’s TiPX to try the thumb screw and on-marker loading before I buy another. I don’t really want to restock on mags or carry them around.

Starting to sound like I should just stick to airsoft for pistol play. The one I have had some quirks that I’ve worked through. And they’re cheap enough to maybe buy some more to let others use on slow paintball days. I wonder if they’d let me use the airsoft pistol on slow paintball days - more of a challenge for me and less pain/intimidating to the rentals. Probably too much of a stretch though.

Yeah thats…the whole point of magazines…not manually handling individual rounds.
