I have had some that scab up last for a long time. But it’s usually in a place I catch the scab on stuff so I keep opening it up.
I have lots of scars on my hands and knuckles from playing I never use gloves. The riot round scar it’s just starting to fade it’s been two years you can only see it when I make a fist now.
6 months is a long time put some vitamin E on them they will heal up quicker. Probably because it’s in the hand and your always using it. I know my hands always heal slowly because I’m always using thick mil rubber gloves so I don’t get exposed to fentanyl at work. Im also washing the skin off my hands till they split especially in the winter.
I have found a Hot tub / or really hot shower will make the bruise go away quicker.

I had a point blank double barrel pump shot into my neck.
It shaved off a good piece of skin and bled like crazy. I had a white oval scar there for about ten years. I can't see it now. It would barely show if I was freshly shaved and hot. If my skin was pinked up it would show white.

I have a lovely circular scar on my neck that isnt tanned. People ask me about it all the time. The best part I find is that my body loves being shot by paintballs. I have developed a few cysts where some pretty gnarly shots have hit me. Mostly where there is bone close to the surface. Ribs, sternum, and one in my abdomen which isnt near any bone actually. I went to the doctor when I first noticed them years ago. The doc says that the impact causes subdermal damage and my body thinks that a cyst is just the thing to treat it.....Joy.

Funny story after a PSP event I guested for a team and we got destroyed I kept being the last one alive in the snake. yeah I got roasted. So after the event me and a buddy go to snowboarding stayed at the Mtn they had a big hot tub. I don’t think anything of it getting in but it looked like I had leprosy and scared everyone out of the hot tub. Funny thing was all my welts below the water line were just about gone by the time we got out,

I still have a scar on my thumb from a shot I took in 1997 or thereabouts. I was leaning out to take a shot when a team-mate shot at the same target; his shot skimmed off my thumb at a shallow angle and the ball shell sliced my thumb open. It didn't hurt that bad or bleed all that much, and it didn't even count as a hit because the paint explosion missed me...but somehow, after 25+ years the scar is still sort of there.

Historically speaking, mine would go away within a day or two. Over the last few years however, they often last several days out to a week.
I had a double whammy last year. I took a pretty painful airsoft hit (possibly shooting hot) right on a knuckle. It hurt to bend that finger for several months. But anyway, two weeks later I played paintball and got hit in the exact same spot. That one lasted a monrth or two.
The one time I was able to convince my church youth group to play paintball, one of the guys took a hit to the inner thigh IIRC, and he had that welt for a full year before it started to fade.

I've got a few " ring worms" as my wife calls them.
This one specifically is probably the worst. It's on my inner thigh just above the knee.
More than ten years ago, we were playing a D-Day scenario at Special Forces Paintball. They have pontoons they scuttle you across a pond for a Normandy beach scenario.
We took the beach, and we had teammates flank the back side of the hill so we could advance.
The friendlies took the ridge and told us to advance. It was aabout 70 years of tall tlgrass to get to them.
30 steps in I heard a pop. A little kid with a rental 98 had his barrel point blanked into this spot.
"ouch, good shot dude.." as I walked away.
By the time I made it to staging, I was bleeding through my valken zulu pants.1 Photo

My good friend took blood thinners for a while and had to pad up per doctors order. He said he bruises too easily, causes stress and wouldn’t heal. It made me think. I perhaps take getting hit for granted. I tend to lean into the paint now whilst I’m still able. I didn’t use to do that when I was younger. I was much much more timid.
