    Smart Parts Impulse

Could use some input from you guys. Can I run an original generation impulse with a more modern reg like a CP or AKA in lieu of the big old school max flo? Some advice would be appreciated

Yes, if you have a vertical adapter for the reg. The Impulse operates at around 180psi.

Yes... For the most part regs are regs are regs.

If they put out the same pressure required it will work.

I believe the Maxflow had a blow off valve to keep the reg from ever over pressurizing so it wouldn't ever damage the solenoid, whatever reg you choose to use make sure you set it with in the appropriate pressure range.

This is helpful. I rarely see an imp without a max flow so I was not sure if there was some reason for this that I was missing

Mostly because they were generally color matching and at the impulses time most regs weren't any better or smaller.

Impulse was done as a major product by 2003.

I’ve used CP regs in the past on impulses, no issues.

I have an Ion reg without the cover on my imp. Works great.

If you want to be extra careful make sure you have an LPR on the impulse.

most all of my Imps have the relief valve on the VA

but yes, when introduced the max-flo was considered the shizz along with the WDP and Nitro duck regs

i had a maxy screw up at a game, and my alias wasnt working right so I pulled the BL reg off that and had my imp running in a couple minutes, looked good too......
