Alumablack or other on laser engraved markers

I have a friend who recently acquired a laser engraver on the level that ANS or any of the other custom engravers in the hobby use.

I have a vision of red and black with my phantom.
It is currently anodized dust red from factory, if I were to laser engrave it, can I come back and alumablack it to fill in the now silver?

Anyone tried similar or have experience?

I don't think the engraving is raw so much as the dye is burnt out

Awesome, I had no idea. We designed a vector that is silhouettes of phantoms in every configuration, kinda like old hybrid/ck/ apparel, but silver is not my style. Back to the drawing board.

All the times I have used Alumablack I have been disappointed with the finish. I would not recommend it to be used in this manner.

the laser "burn" the dye through the ano without damaging it. The lasered area will not take dye or ano.

This means that I also won't know what color it turns without a test patch correct? I've seen some come out white and some silver.
    Working...
