    Stabilizer vs sidewinder

Which was your preferred old school reg? I always ran sidewinders because I liked the rotating fitting collar and the different length offerings.

But now I kind of prefer the stabilizer for no other reason than the had more color options.

    I vote Sidewinder.

I've had too many Stabs creep on me to not recommend a Sidewinder.

A quick disassemble/clean/reassemble has always fixed the Stab but it's taken too many guns down for the day for me to really use them too much.

But... it's far easier to find a Stab in the used market than a Sidewinder.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

They're both fairly simple looking, but I like the Sidewinder, especially in the shortest form. Stabs are cool but too long. Sidewinders are also very easy to maintain.

ill be the weirdo and say STABILIZER!
allegedly "better for c02" and only slightly less consistent "once broken in" according to a bunch of testing videos i watched a long time ago.
i dig the longer reg body and i like the higher up input ports more than across the bottom style.
imo looks more old school and even though its super rare, when you screw one in and the ports line up perfectly, theres few better feelings!
cheaper and more plentiful than sidewinders too
disagree on the "more color options" since most sidewinders ive seen have been match annoed

I was thinking the same thing, I've seen far more fancy colored Sidewinders than I have Stabs

I like them both equally. I haven't noticed any issues with either and often a gun will sit years without being used.

For me it often comes down to the build. If its a old school cocker type build Stabilizer it is. If its newish build then Sidewinder.

Back in the day, I was a Stabilizer guy for the fact that they worked great with CO2. Nowadays, CO2 is basically defunct in my area, so I've come to prefer the Sidewinder for its cleaner look and feel. Anecdotally, I think the Sidewinder is also a little more consistent on my reg-deleted Automag than the Stabilizer was.

Stabiwinder..... Very rare not a joke. Iykyk.

Honestly as much as I am indifferent to aks products at least they are still being made. Pps stuff is questionable at best

I’m a diehard AKA fan I think they make the best regs. 2L+ and the Sidewinder are my two favorite regs.

I haven’t messed with palmers regs that much I do have one built into a Phantom valve that has served me well. However other players I know have had a lot of issues with the Palmers regs. At the same time I have heard good things about them.

But between the two AKA 100% (unless I was building a palmers marker)

I have used both on a few different builds and I have a strong preference for Sidewinders due mostly to their aesthetic and partially due to their reliability. Almost all the regular male ASA Stabs I have used were finicky and had the creep like Jordan described, female Stabs anecdotally seemed a little better. I have never had any major issues with Sidewinders or 2 Liters, and from my limited perspective the consistency is great. All that said for slower shooting or manually operated builds something basic like a WGP or CP is more than enough.

Unpopular opinion: WGP regs are better for CO2 than PPS.

I'm pretty much with you on this especially about the stock WGP regulators their only problem was having user friendly adjustability.

Grendel Absolutely, I wish the externally adjustable caps for the WGP regs were more readily available. I love the Ergo and Black Magic variants, but you can't beat a good ol' $10 WGP sledgehammer

Anyone try those new shim stacks DocFire just came out with for the older WGP regs. Looks like they added some more adjustability to them. CP are great regs my biggest gripe is the out the bottom macro line. I just don’t like how it looks. They work fantastic though and are very Reasonably priced. May favorite is definitely the 2L+ with the collar that locks it in place just right. Fitting position is clean and it fits a lot of VSA real nice. There gloss finish matches really nice.

Awesome regulator and if needed you can kill your opponent with a quick "pistol whipping".
