Innovation has slowed because the market is small and there's only room for a few big manufacturers.

    That's it. That's why.

There is a ton of innovation on the gear side that could still happen, but the fact is that nobody is willing to try anything risky because the ROI doesn't work out. Just because you can't think of anything in a couple minutes staring at your butt doesn't mean there's nothing there.

If the market was still big the risk/reward ratio would be fixed and we'd still be seeing major innovations in both hardware and game design coming through. But right now there's not enough money in the sport to even hire anyone smart.

Most of the people left running the sport are low quality. All the high quality people have moved on.

    Prove me wrong.

Smart Parts realized that the tech had peaked a while ago. People were less likely to jump from gun to gun to find any advantage.
Thats when they tried to convinced everyone that they need to buy new 50-cal guns.
50-cal was obviously better then 68, and you only need to get all new equipment. lol

except I did have a 50-cal in the 80s, and it sucked..

50 cal wasn't innovation, it was fraud.

They actively and knowingly lied about what it was and what it could do. Smart Parts was run by people who should never have been placed in any kind of leadership role in any industry.

        Definitely doesn't count as innovation.
