    At that point it's pretty obvious you're just getting nickle and dimed. Add that extra price to entry fee or paint prices, and the customer won't feel like theyr'e being taken advantage of.

      Yeah. Indoor fields are always expensive to run, I'm glad extreme velocity down in Salem switched to reball, I think it was a good move on their part.

        A lot of the time fields like this are leaning heavily on those discount tickets that people sell on Groupon, campuses and in malls (back when malls had people in them). Rental-focused fields sometimes get over half of their business from these tickets. The tickets usually say they cover rental gear and admission, but air and paint must be paid for separately. When the ticket people arrive, the field wants it to look like buying air is a totally normal thing, not just a way to make sure ticket people still pay almost the normal price.

        It's still obnoxious, but it's not as dumb as it looks to a gear-owner. To a gear-owner this is like charging an extra $5 at a restaurant for the plate your food is served on (required).
