Giving new life to worn-out velcro headbands

So I'm sure like some of you, I have always preferred velcro over the tied head bands personally. But, the dang velcro always seems to inevitably wear out too much either on the hook, loop, or both sides to continue using. Well, I bought myself some 3M dual lock strips which use those tiny mushroom style caps that press into each other and (hopefully) shouldn't wear down, at least nearly as fast.

Only cost me $5 per headband from a local tailor to sew on the pre-cut strips I made. Played a day so far of tearing it on/off constantly as well as putting it through the wash. No issues yet! The strips are pretty thick so can take getting used to handling vs normal velcro, but bend and press into each other easy enough.

Yeah it definitely needs a bit more of a firm push vs regular velcro to lock the sides together, but it stays nice and tight on my head.

Nice! I might need to do the same — the “loop” side of my Velcro is hanging on by just a few threads!
