Last year one of the damage inc guys was fielding their Carter Duck on one of the woods fields for stocktoberfest at AG paintball and while waking off the field lost the arm that connects the slide to the body of the gun. I didn't have my metal detector up with me at the time of him losing the part, but thought about it afterwards and was determined to try finding it. Tried for a few hours a few months ago at the spring stock game with no luck finding it, but did clean up the field finding a ton of old CO2 cartridges lol.
Anyways I got up to the field earlier this week on Friday and within a half hour of searching, I got a nice signal in the general area that he thought he had lost it. I kicked away the leaves getting ready to dig and checked the spot again and the target had moved. Got on the ground and there it was, didn't even sink into the ground over this past year, had been hidden the leaves.
It was like finding a needle in a haystack. I still can't believe I found it. The damage inc guys played this weekend and I got to give the part back and reunite it with the gun.
Definitely one of my favorite metal detecting find returns I've been able to do.
