I think it might have been shooting a little hot…

Curious to see what kinda nasty shots you got! Anybody else care to share?

First bruise’s are after about a week marinating…
Scar… That was friendly fire from a fellow pumper with an MVP with some horrible idiot marks, haven’t seen that guy since, never going to forget him though.

Even if I still had the picture I don’t think I’d be convinced to share it here, but I once took a shot to the ass from a rental player I was so fortunate to have been sharing a bunker with. Barrel was only a few inches away. One cheek was purple for a week with all the other fun colors of bruising as the days went on.

Don’t recall it being particularly painful when it happened, or in healing, but definitely the ugliest I’ve ever had.

This was a while back wasn't it?

I remember that MVP. Nate has it now, and I informed him of the velocity situation. One of many projects, it won't hurt you again.

I remember forcing that dude to the Chrono against all his protest and then him sheepishly admitting he:

        A) never chronoed in in the first place.....
        B) had no idea how to fix it.

Thankfully I also haven't seen him since then. I can track him down though....

F*** anyone who doesn't Chrono their shit.

Also, now I have a picture of your nipple

I have a scar on my right bicep. Ran into a cat shoot out with a dude. We shot each other at the same time but his barrel was inches from my skin. It took chunks out.

No pictures but my last outing was playing weeks after a 50ish km/hr moto crash(smoked a cat on a dirt road). Was still pretty bruised up from that as well as still recovering from the concussion (odd dizzy spells when looking straight up or laying down).

The bruising and welts on top of healing deep bruising was interesting to say least. Generally paintball does not bruise much for me even the ones that hurt. I’m a Bigger guy and am um, well padded but definitely got more bruising this time round.

Honestly it depends on the paint and how it hits. I have had some nasty shots from paint I know wasn’t shooting hot.

What about the MVP makes it susceptible to velocity spikes mine seems to be very consistent but it’s has been modified to shoot right. I don’t remember my early MVP shooting hot.

Dam Chuck, you got hit by a riot round? I thought people shooting those at fields was an urban legend or an excuse for fields to ban First Strikes.

I'd assume the guy shooting it got banned but did he get any charges for that?

I bet that stung but at least now you know you can take one. Hopefully it wasn't on the knuckle!

Center of my left hand swelled up like a soft ball thought I broke it and couldn’t close my hand for a week or so. They ended up catching the guy shooting them at another mag fed event with all the GoPro on the field they traced it back to who it was. They wouldn’t tell me who it was probably a good thing at the time. He did get banned from both fields but not so sure how enforceable that is. It split my skin pretty bad and scared like a cigar burn. You can really see it when my hand gets cold. Probably the worst shot I have taken in Paintball but I have been hit with all kinds of wild rounds in defensive tactics and chemical agent school so I knew instantly it wasn’t a paintball.

Oof that sucks. Center of the hand is probably up there on the more painful places it could be, but glad it didn't break anything!

              I've got Two nasties.

first one is a Permanent scar on the inside of my left thigh. A few inches above the knee. We were playing a D Day scenario in maybe 2017? I was on the boat crew and had been belly crawling under fire for a bit. We had planned to send a spear team on the back side to help us take the beach. The calvary had cleared the ridge and yelled for us to move up.

I stood up and started walking through the tall grass to the ridge when BAM. I had stepped over a yound kid with a rental 98 and he firmly planted a ball point blank to my thigh.

By the time I got back to our staging table I could see blood coming through my valken pants. It was purple from crotch to knee for a week or so, and I've still got the ring worm.

another was from glow ball. It's basically black light paintball in the dark. The paint shell is fairly hard on those uv specific balls. I was wearing a florescent pink sleeveless shirt and other gear to look cool under a black light.

a beast of a baller flanked on the left side of our field and got behind me and a few other guys. He hit me from fairly close in the left tricep. That is only about a year old. But it's another ring worm situation.

I wouldn't call these bad, but I got bunkered the one point my 4.1 ran out of air. Guy put two dangerously close to my defibrillator.

OpusX I typically have a pad sewn Into my jersey to dampen these close calls, but playing for ChoSanJuan, I was wearing his unpadded snug jersey. I didn't even realize how close that was til my shower.

Playing once of my first regional events in England 2003, I was using my 98 Angel LCD and it was shooting laser beams. So imagine my horror when as the only American playing in this tourney, my Angel decided to shoot hot. Like white hot. Like hot enough to break the fabric of the jersey of the poor dude I drilled a few times and left instant dripping blood welts. I had played several matches that morning and had chronod to 300+/- 15ish fps. Poor dude crawling on the ground, refs coming running at me grab my gun and chrono it. Yeah.....425 fps. Let me please express in absolute sincerity, I have always been the type of dude who follows rules. I was horrified at that speed and extremely sorry. I did my best to convince everyone that it was a freak accident and I have no idea how it happened. They confiscated my gun for the rest of the tourney. I went over to the poor dude who was shot full of holes and apologized to him 100 times. He was pissed but I think he eventually recognized the absolute horror and sorrow I felt in my facial features. When after the event, the head ref and event organizer tried to read me the riot act about safety. They chronod the gun to see how hot it was shooting and it was only shooting 300ish. It was one of the paintball moments that I experienced but wish never happened. Still dont know how an angel could go from shooting awesome and consistent to spiking something fierce like that. Never had that problem with the gun again.

We washed it off, taped some gauze on and got back in the game. When I got home, picking the paint out and cutting off the dead skin was the challenge.

Yeah, thats exactly what that poor dude who I shot half a dozen times looked like. It was on his rib cage and chest area though. Through his jersey as well.

That shot in the above pic is gnarly as all hell though. Got to love this sport. We are all a bit masochists at heart. Maybe a bit sadists as well.

That’s why I love my denim. It’s hot AF but it takes all the impact out of the shot and they are durable as hell. I like the mock necks because they protect yah neck a lil better.

renegades and the similar stuff is definitely like armor out there. doesnt work as good for bounces/welts but when theyre really broken in and worn down and faded a little bit, they are not as stuffy.

I miss how worn in that thing was I have had that thing forever. He’s going to repair the holes for me and patch her up.

Close range PGP from Adam, a phlebotomist, who knows how to draw blood. That paint was hard and it hit a hard spot. All healed up now.
