    Old Paint

Unfortunately a lot of the older guns that I have with fixed barrels have huge bores and pretty much all modern paint just rolls out lol. My solution is to try finding new old stock paint from 20+ years ago lol. I just bought a gear bag lot with an unopened sampler 500 round box of pmi rps balls that appear to have no dimples and look pretty BIG. I'll report back and see if they do the trick

I know most paintballs age like milk, but there's gotta be more new old stock BIG paint out there to find. Like hunting down antique wine or whiskey lol

Anyone else try using really old paint? I remember qmto put out a video years ago on shooting new oldstock nitro duck BIG paint with good results.

I have several big bore guns too and have tried 15 plus year old paint and it usually goes poorly, overall. Has anyone tried "swelling" current paint or reviving old paint? I'm not an engineer, chemist, or someone that really knows what they're doing, but in my mind either a vacuum or pressure chamber along with moisture, chemicals or both might help.

The only problem with "old" paint is that while it does swell, it also won't break. That's the downside. The upside is that if you hit them enough times, they will call themselves out even if it doesn't break. Sorry Paul.

I think the correct term is RIPE. I swear I just saw an facebook ad for 10 cases of old school marbalizers.

The guy i got this from said he last played like 20 years ago.

The ball im showing in the barrel is from an opened bag. maybe it shrunk coz it wasnt sealed? But i have 2 more sealed bags. Ill eventually open them up and see

This is the correct answer. No one likes being shot with potential rocks, not to mention the safety concerns.

I shot some DXS Silver recently that was a little tight in my .685 Stella but too bad it was all oblong.

But anyways, a had a 20-ish year old half case come my way recently and it was really tiny. Like, roll past dual detents sometimes tiny. I think they shrink after some time. The fill was starting to separate too. I think Kevin was onto something when he said that the vaccum sealing was what made those Nitro Duck paintballs last.

A few years back I got invited to play some outlaw. I had everything but paint but then I realized I had a pile of old bags of scraps that were all swollen and bouncy. I put them in a garbage bag with holes and taped it to the back of a dehumidifier. Left it there overnight. Next day the balls I tried passed the bounce test. Went out and shot laser tit ropes with the 7-800 rounds I was able to scrounge up.
