I didn't really get into paintball till 2015, remember seeing monster balls in walmart as a kid, but never shot them/got shot by them. Was wondering if anyone had any war stories to tell on them?

I've seen a video of someone jumping up and down on a bag of them and nothing was breaking inside
If they didn't swell over time you could have used them as reballs

Those were pretty bad and the original Valken ones. We were playing tourney at the time and were asked to try out these "new" paintballs. They would squish but not break. Exactly like monster balls. The casing was just too strong and thick I believe.I am the admin...Comment

Have dusted, cleaned and reshot monster ball. Was a ridiculously heavy shell, and here in the south it turned to rubber.Comment

Pro Ball was very similar to Monster Ball, thick shelled and the paint would set up like wax if you didn't get it off quickly.
That stuff was great in the woods... it would shred shrubbery and branches out of the way.
I think it would even peel the bark off trees.Comment

Both my regular fields at the time banned Monster Ball almost immediately after it came out, so i was lucky enough to never see it in action. No reason to even get it when RPS Big Ball was on the same walmart shelf. Now that was good budget paint.Comment

They were big box paint up to about 2010.
Gummy shells. Waxy fill that was impossible to clean of anything it got in and on.
We actually banned them at the field I was working at because they caused so many issues on byop nightComment

They haven't been made in many years, but are nonetheless still listed as banned at my home field, along with Valken Infinity.
I've tried telling the management that it's okay, the Monster Balls can't hurt you any more, they're gone for good. But they just can't quite believe me. The memories are too strong. Someone out there just might still have a bucket of those brightly colored rocks, somewhere, and want to bring them to the field. So they go on making a point of letting people know that while BYOP is allowed there, Monster and Infinity are banned (along with FSRs), just in case they come back like some horror movie monster.
The Automag: Not as clumsy or random as an electro. An elegant marker for a more civilised age.

There are currently 2 cases for sale on ebay, each under a different seller. The threat is real. They haven't been made in many years, but are nonetheless still listed as banned at my home field, along with Valken Infinity.
