    There is hope

Since I can’t get a new Ninja 45/45 (which is the best size tank) anymore I just found out HK Army Alpha 68/45 is almost the same length

It’s larger in diameter though, that’s the only downside. A good narrow tank you can tuck your elbow down under it and play so much tighter.

The 45/45 was a great balance of capacity and size.

I just got one of the 36ci Tanks for my Son because it’s nice and short. I’m going to swap out the reg for a First Strike reg to make it as short as possible. Until they grow into the gear.

Greetings, the 45 cu in is also a favorite of mine. The newer, modern tanks are definitely more capacity for the same length and weight. (though premium priced). Below is a summary of tanks dimensions from the website. I'd put the 77 and 80 cu in as similar length, but 68 and 70 cu in are fine as well.

My measurements of Ninja Air Lite 45 cu in/4500 psi (born date 01/21)
Length 9", 2.7" Dia (8.25" circumference). Weight TBD

HK Army Alpha Air (source HK Army website)
SMALLER AND LIGHTER THAN TRADITIONAL AIR SYSTEMS
        15ci 0.5lbs 8.5in
        48ci 1.53lbs 6.6in
        68ci 1.53lbs 8.2in
        77ci 1.75lbs 9in
        88ci 1.9lbs 9.65in
        98ci 2lbs 10in

FNLite Bottle Comparison (from ANSgear website)
        • 60ci: Weight - 1.4lbs / 635g - Length - 7.5in / 19cm - Diameter - 4.2in / 11cm
        • 70ci: Weight - 1.6lbs / 725g - Length - 8.4in / 21cm - Diameter - 4.2in / 11cm
        • 80ci: Weight - 1.8lbs / 816g - Length - 9.4in / 24cm - Diameter - 4.2in / 11cm
        • 90ci: Weight - 2lbs / 907g - Length - 10.25in / 26cm - Diameter - 4.2in / 11cm

        Infamous Hyperlight (from Mazens website)
        68ci Length 8 3/16", 4" Dia, Weight 1.5lbs
        80ci Length 9.1", Weight 2lbs

Tanks have gotten smaller in the last 10 years as the technology advances. The walls got thinner. I talked with ninja about this before I got my 77ci because I wanted a little more air than my 68 but I like to use tank covers both to protect the tank and to grip against my shoulder. They informed me that the sl2 77 had the same external dimensions as their older 68. So I currently have a 77ci tank in a 68 tank cover

The new HK tanks are the best. I've got a 68 and a 77. The 68 fees smaller than the old stubby 48's.

              Elev-8 has a 48/4500, definitely a premium cost however.

I picked up an Infamous Hyperlight 68/45, which is the same length as my old Crossfire 45/45. The width difference is negligible (i'll have to take a side-by-side photo later).

The advancement in bottle design is bonkers. I hope it's due to better processes and not lax regulations.

I've been using my HK 36/4500 for a while now. It feels absolutely amazing, but there is one spot where the protective coat has already chipped off, and the reg itself is far less durable then my other tank regs. It works....but I'm planning to replace the reg ASAP because the lip for the top "o" ring bent so fast that it no longer seals on several of my markers.
