Why are centerfeeds the norm?

AGD did a lot of good but the powerfeed almost undoes that only because SO MANY good blowbacks of the era have stupid powerfeeds instead of decent right feeds
To add to that, I remember a few low end blowbacks that had powerfeeds that did not align the paint at a 90-degree angle. They couldnt even get the gimmick right. lol

But it definetly helped the early mags. They just had too much blowby up the feed, leading to chops. The early AGD powerfeeds seem to help that a little, but then the main aggrivation was the original automag PF was left-feed only, sticking the hopper in your face. If you wanted it right feed, you had to shell out for the more expensive Minimag.

Other short-lived gimmicks- On the VM68, you could get a turbo-hopper, which took some of that blowby and used it to agigate the hopper, pneumatically.
Montnele use a delayed-blowback system to reduce blowby, but high-speed video showed that it only worked when no paint was in the breech. haha
