We need sensors in the players heads to figure out who’s having the most fun ‘cause that’s the guy winning paintball.

In all seriousness, I do expect that one day technology will be advanced enough so that somehow all hits will be registered. Maybe the tech will be so advanced as to lock your gun to prevent firing while eliminated. That would also prove beneficial to other games like airsoft, nerf, etc.

Wether you like it or not, the way NXL is played has a huge impact on the sport.

I think neither one of these is 100% true and it's largely dependent on your particular field.

My local field has 4 layouts. If I go play the speedball course, me being a walk on rec player, I'm going to be shot at with a ramping mode. That's because the guys who play the speedball field are all your classic tourny try hards. If I go play the hyper-jugs field, I'm most likely getting shot at with semi-auto.

Both situations the player shooting at me is there as a walk on

I think broader point is that, regardless of how your local field plays, a lot people will find out about paintball from social media ect where the vast majority of content is from pro players spraying each other with ramping and not having fun.

Nobody will see that and want to go out and play paintball, but a few tweaks to the pro rules (pod limits, 1 CTF, wider asymmetrical fields, no ramping, kill streak activated invincible terminators with Nelspots) could make the game fun for both the player and the audience.

Bunkers randomly deflate and inflate. Start players with no gear except mask, have to run around field to equip self. Less guns than players, drop you gun when your shot for the next guy, Russian army style. Catch a paintball and get a player back, dodge ball style.

            Never played a tournament eh?

Bunkers randomly deflate and inflate based on the underpaid refs mood

If your ball bounces and is caught by the player you're eliminated
        Working...
