    Favorite Paintball Game Variant?

    Hello MCB,

I'm always looking for new game types to play outside of the usual elimination / CTF / VIP modes.
Games like Zombies, Counter strike style attack & defend, musket ball, I'd love to see some different variants on common games as well.
Not sure if it exists already on here but it would be cool to get a games library going here on MCB for everyone, especially for newbies.

What are some of your favorite game or game variants to play?

    Here's one of my favorites:

Throne of death: A chair or a crate somewhere in the middle of the field is designated as the "Throne" and each team needs to hold it, meaning sit with both cheeks, in the throne longer than the other team.
Played with infinite respawns, we play longest consecutive hold of the throne but you can also play longest total hold of the throne. It can also be played with 3 or 4 teams for even more chaos.

    Let's hear yours!

Never tried this before, but it might be fun to try a game on an airball field where both teams start on the sides of the field instead of either end. It would probably go terribly but I'd love to try it

we play alot of side to side on our woods field, airball would be incredibly hectic. maybe doable if everyone is allowed to start at the closest bunker

We used to play Snake vs dorito. Regular airball but one team has to send everyone to D side, the other team has to send everyone snake side

Air all field is usually the best to play it on if you like pain. People usually last under 5 seconds on the throne haha

ill edit this when i dig around and figure out his name on here but my buddy Nate and I were designing Mobile capture points that would have worked like the Battlefield games. 8ft Pvc post with 5 gallon bucket of concrete for the base. there is a red and blue button close to the base and corresponding lights at the top
of the posts. to activate your teams light (capture that point) you have to hold the button down for 15seconds.
Nate got pretty far into a working prototype that we tried out at one of our pump games, instead of lights the contraptions played music and the 15 sec button ended up turning into a toggle switch but the games were a fun proof of concept.

I've played a scenario game back in the day that was like conquest mode from the battlefield games, I gotta say adding something like this would have been really cool

One of my all time favorite games was when we all put our markers at the ends of the field and all started at the 50. They say go and you have to run back to get your gun then start playing. It obviously favors the faster players, but it's fun to try. Easy to run on a speedball field. I would like to try it on a rec field.

also, it is very fun to lay everyones guns around in a circle and play spin the bottle to determine who gets which marker for the next game.

I like zombies/infection. 1 player starts as the infected against the holdouts. Play it on a clock and give the zombies infinite respawns, while the survivors play out the clock. I’d love to make a little “fort” in the central point of the field and maybe add some sort of power ups (antidote that turns x # of zombies back, extra pods, etc) that survivors need to venture out to collect.

we also play 10 ball, which is what it sounds like. Load 10 balls into the hopper and go for it. Always fun when someone accidentally ramps during the game.

I've done some 4 corner CTF - team that holds the most flags at the end of the time limit wins. More interesting when it's not a straight line. Getting overrun? Cut your losses and go get the next guys base instead. While someone else circles in behind the guys running into your base.

Juggernaut games, where each team has a player who can only be killed by a shot between two tape lines - one around the knee, one around the upper thigh.

"Chess", where if you kill the king you win the game.

There's always birthday ball! Developed by Splatttttt, carried on by Chaos

Usually played with pumps, but theoretically it doesn't matter what kind of marker. Basic rules:
              • 2 teams
              • Can be CTF, elimination, or pretty much whatever other mode.
              • Each player gets 10 rounds, that's it.
              • Place a single 10 round tube at the center of the field. Whoever gets to it first can use it however they see fit.
              • Edit: 5 minute time limit
It's always a ton of fun and generally leads to a lot of silly moves and shenanigans.

Place pods caches around the field, more in the middle. Everyone starts with a limited amount of balls in the hopper, nothing extra. Have to coordinate finding and distributing rounds. Lots of fun.

I always enjoyed playing "Downed Pilot" back when I started out playing on private land:

Split into 2 teams. Teams don't have to be equal in size. One player is selected as the downed pilot.
The downed pilot has limited ammo (when we played pump it was 20 rounds, but a half-hopper will do), and they have a splint (we used a tree branch and duct tape) on one leg for limited mobility.
Pilot starts somewhere in the mid field. One team is trying to kill the pilot, the other team rescues. Pilot is free to move.
Whoever kills or rescues the pilot wins.

Quick draw. Great when kids keep arguing over who's better. To be, clear have them draw on each other, not me blasting kids.

Quick draw is a blast. We got rule sets a point system now. It’s evolving and it’s a dam good time.

Used to play a game up north we called "ten flag".
It was a large, wooded area, about 30 acres in play. An outlaw field, it had small groups of maybe 20 players on some weekends.
There were ten small flags tied to trees, maybe 5"x7" placed by the game runner, all checkered black & white (like nascar).
A timed game, with 60 minutes for your team to find and return as many as you could without being eliminated. Had to move fast.
If you were eliminated while carrying a flag you had to surrender it, but if you captured the enemy base any flags already returned could not be confiscated.
                  Led to some interesting strategies.

I've played speedball at night where the only illumination was blinking Christmas tree lights. That's an experience.
I once played a charity exhibition ~ speedball in wheelchairs. One sitting & shooting while the other pushed. If one got hit, they could swap places. Both hit = done.

                  The possibilities are endless.
