Finished a project finally

Turned out pretty good. It's a jcs mkx allies launcher. Belongs to a friend of mine. I got it from him about a year ago now. It was leaking and he didn't know how to fix it. So I went through it, did a complete rebuild (had to figure out some o ring sizes along the way) and decided to paint it as well.

And yes, that is a gold leaf trigger, because why not

The short version is, spray paint onto foam paint brush, saturate with paint and throw

Here is is with the breach open. That silver ring in between the two straps is where the valve starts so is basically half barrel

O, and it has the "blast" attachment on the back. Basically you fill it with flower or talkin powder and when you fire it puts out a simulated smoke cloud. Works ok, not great

As for the paint here is what I did in a little more detail

Strip to bare metal
3 coats primer (light coats, only the 3rd got full coverage)

Base color (again, light coats)
Spray a paintbrush in color, flick at object. I used a pop up canopy to hang all the parts from, that made it really easy to go around in a circle with one color then switch to a different color, repeat until covered.

Let it dry for at least 45min

3-4 coats of clear Enamle. Again, light coats.

If at all possible move into a garage and do not touch for a minimum of 24 hours, I also hit them with a heat gun to help the process along. Try to warm them up but do not get it hot. Hot is bad
