While scrolling on facebook, I came across a post from Mike's Paintball Magazines, who scanned a 2001 issue of APG. I looked thru it, and felt so many things. A lot of the ads were cringey, but man I kinda miss when paintball was all crappy blowbacks. Anyway, when I first started playing paintball in 2007 I was able to get a handful of 2003 issues of APG. I wanted to go back and look thru them, but Mike didn't have them scanned. I remember seeing people talk about scanning old magazines a while ago, has anyone done that particular year?
Old APG scans?

Withtin last couple weeks Mike's Paintball Magazines posted he was out of 90's APGs to scan and was working on 2000+ issues now. So I suspect you will see it sometime soon. Or just comment on his posts and ask maybe, He respondes right away when I have commented on posts before.
I love looking through his uploads. IMO best page on FB.-Team Silver Creek United- -
ive messaged that guy and told him about
mcb but hes got no interest in reposting (understandable, its alot) everything over here.
i go through every one of his fb posts, kinda sad hes getting into the early 2000s stuff, i like the older stuff more. If youre patient, he's probably going to be uploading more from that era.
Also, a while back i scored some really cool old apg issues from bacci paintball
Theres also a few sellers on ebay
One of my Bacci APGs has an awesome DD68 ad and another has a Sgt. Splatter comic i got Fred Moulton to sign when he visited Stocktober a couple years ago.

I still have about 600 pounds of old APG and Paintball Sports magazines in a tote somewhere.
I had meant to dig them out when I did the PHD thread, never got to them.
Unfortunately, I'm not really tech savvy enough to scan them.Comment

One of the reasons I still even have Facebook is for Mike's scans. Even though APG is 75% ads, still love itComment

Here's another good group.

I love collecting and reading old paintball magazines. Love the days of ads (as dated as they can be) that were made by actual professional ad agencies and ran in print. Budgets for a single page ad could be over 10 grand depending on if actors or sets were involved. Nowadays its just crappy cell phone pics on social media that passes for ad content. It's depressing.Comment

Mikes Paintball Magazine’s is a rockstar. I’ve spent hours looking through his scans.
With old websites disappearing over time and the way back machine not always being reliable I think old magazines like APG, PGI, Facefull, etc… are one of the best and most reliable ways to get information on Paintballs history.
Warpig.com is another surviving gem for information on paintball from the 2000s.

I don’t recall that one specifically, but outrageously stretching the truth or outright lying is a time honored tradition for paintball advertising. 🤣Check out my YouTube channel for overview videos of the WGP Karnivor and WGP Orracle!

-Mechanically? I have no doubt. If an Eblade'ed 'Cocker can do 15, the mechanical one can. It'd be curious to see how fast it can go, before things like sear bounce or airflow through the hoses start being a restriction.
Yes, fully agreed that it's likely impossible that a person can actually, manually finger the trigger that fast
but I have no doubt a good mech 'Cocker can physically cycle that fast.

On the magazines, we're already seeing a "dark age"- events that occurred after APG finally folded, and the last few years. The internet, contrary to popular belief, is NOT forever, and there's no easy-to-access record of things like marker releases, tourney results or event descriptions.
I can remember a lot of good tech articles and event reports on 68caliber.com, we lost a ton of good info when the Palmer Owner's Group board closed down, I'm not sure whatever happened to Durty Dan's stuff, and I'm surprised I've never seen a collection of Sgt. Splatter comics.
Yeah, I'm a bit of a luddite, but man, I loved looking through the old magazines. I think it's a shame we don't have any, anymore.

So much information has been lost, except what archive.org managed to crawl. IOG (for Ions), had a ton of resources for Ions all the body kits, bolts, boards, etc. There was a Spyder group (SPUG or SPOG?) that I can't remember. SpecOps PB had some pretty good conversations. A lot of the punkworks science-based discussions on TechPB have been lost as well. Archive.org has come in handy quite a bit but, private sub-forums are completely gone, and discovering stuff is purely down to just whether or not the bot crawled the sub-forum index in order to find he post you're interested in.On the magazines, we're already seeing a "dark age"- events that occurred after APG finally folded, and the last few years.
