    Ninja sl3 tank certs

    https://ansgear.com/ninja-sl3-carbon...-matte-series/

Was poking around at tanks and found 2 things interesting with these

    1) didn't ninja go under? Am I mixing up companies? I thought ninja went under

    2) these only list a ISO certification and not a DOT. Looks like everything is the same, 5 year test cycle, 15 year life but I just thought it was odd that there's no dot cert

Nice Ninja always made great products. I would love to see the old SL45/45 sizes come back.

I’ll support this idea. I loved my 45/45 tanks back in the day.

If these new Ninja tanks are certified like the First Strike tanks, then that's a good thing as the UN-ISO tanks aren't subject to the 15-year maximum lifespan. So long as they pass hydro, they live on.

Were these first strike tanks the ones that didn't have US certifications?
Any idea the weight of the SLV3 bottles? It looks like I can buy just a bottle now, so that's great! Ninja never was interested in that.

The FS tanks were actually UN-ISO certified, which is a valid certification in the US. The problem is that many places weren't licensed to certify UN-ISO tanks since they only ever needed DOT. I ran into this issue when trying to get my son's tank retested. However, I found that there are places here in the US licensed to certify these UN-ISO tanks. I've been using Hogan's Alley Paintball for my tanks since then.

I have no idea about the weight of the SLV3 bottles.

I need to call my local fire extinguisher place, then. I'd hate to get a tank they can't certify.

For what it's worth, Hogan's Alley makes it stupid simple. They ship you the box and packing materials along with a shipping label. You pack it up and drop it in the mail. You don't even have to pull the reg if you don't want to (so long as the tank is empty). They even include a 3D printed thread saver that depresses your pin to be sure it's empty. Their turnaround time is pretty quick too.

                what's the price for that?
I have a location in my city that'll do it for about $25 and the turn around is only a few days.
