Puse RDR loader from GI. Never even saw one in the wild...

Had a couple of Ricochet loaders about 15 years ago and they worked very well. I used them on my SP-8 and SP-1, firing ramping or F/A at 10bps without issues. Plus I liked the angular shape.
Gotta love the original DYE Rotor (and now the LTR); very reliable, very easy to service and super solid.
Amongst the latest offerings, the Protoyz (PE really) Speedster is worth mentioning. Dirt cheap but not cheaply made. Very sturdy, easy to clean, but it *is* a slow loader (below 10bps, despite what's advertised.) Last summer I saw a guy who got a package deal comprised of a Mini or an Axe with the Speedster. He couldn't understand why in the midst of ramping sometimes his gun would stop shooting. I told him that it was simply because the loader wasn't fast enough and therefore the eyes wouldn't register a ball in the breach. I think therefore that the Speedster is better suited for "slow" semi play."Aren't you getting too old for this??"
"Nope."Comment

Evlution 5? What was the defining characteristics of that hopper? The Evlution 4 was the last version I'm aware of with flexible / durable black shell.Personally, I loved the old eggs. My first electronic hopper was an evlution 2 purchased at walmart. The balance was bad, the lid design was dumb, and the shells were brittle. But goshdang I still think they were cool. Mine actually lasted quite a while; I had it for probably 10 years before a couple screw holes blew out. Even the original lid and battery door were holding on!! It fed plenty fast, was gentle enough on paint, and I always thought they looked cool.
I appreciated that they tried to bring it back with the evlution 4, but it looked really weird. The Evlution 5 (just called "evlution"), which in fairness is probably closer to a vlocity than an egg, was cool but wasn't around for very long. Probably what the hopper always should have been. Hmm. Maybe I should track one down.Originally posted by Tom Kaye, in response to FS price critics:
Unfortunately all of you have played the one "speedball" game of paintball for so long you can't conceive of other ways to do this and hence any new ideas seem stupid.

How about the Magna Drive? How well did that one sell? First hopper to include the RF capability stock right?Originally posted by Tom Kaye, in response to FS price critics:

I've always wanted to give the Speedster a try because I think it fits a very important niche in the sport. Durable, cheap, but helps "rental" type mechanical gun produce a better experience for new players.Comment

Miss my egg, some days. The neck & battery door eventually cracked after a few years. Don't remember what happened to it - must've sold it because i wouldn't have thrown it out.Personally, I loved the old eggs. My first electronic hopper was an evlution 2 purchased at walmart. i was always told the pinokio hoppers were some
of the fastest and most reliable but the aesthetics were just not for me.
my a-5 had the ricochet shell for the cyclone feed.
the "deflection technology" really did work!
shots that would have broken on my
hopper were redirected into my goggles on multiple occasions!

The Speedster is cool but it's pretty heavy. I think the original price of $65 was too high for what it was, but at its current price ($35-40) it's a decent deal. I just don't think it really competes with the revy.Amongst the latest offerings, the Protoyz (PE really) Speedster is worth mentioning. Dirt cheap but not cheaply made. I don't recall them beingg terribly popular. I think the rearward balance pushed people away from it, and IIRC you could get the RF chip for other hoppers so I think most people just did that. That said, it came out at the same time as a lot of the early ROF caps; I think the NXL dropped to 13.3 right after the Magna came out. At that ROF, the RF idea was kinda moot. Just about anything could feed that fast.
This is the JT Evlution (what I'm calling the Evlution 5)

I don't think it was around for more than 6 months. I asked my teammate about his and he said he broke the feedneck very quickly. Pretty sure it's the same thing as the evlution 4 just with a more "normal" shape. So, kinda like an Evlution/Vlocity crossbreed.Comment

Hmm 3 pages deep and the APP Turbo Loader hasn’t been mentioned yet. I have one new in the package at home.
