The juggernaut, a paintball tank that will not die

So, had a random thought today.

Here's what I drive for work

When full it's roughly 2800 gallons of propane.

Build a paintball tank off of it, catwalks, turrets on top you name it whatever you want. But all the markers are tippmann c3s

    2800 gallons x 4.2 = 11,760 pounds

Since the c3 gets about 50k shots per pound that's

    588,000,000 shots before it's empty

This is where it becomes much more of a train than a tank, 588m paintballs is roughly 2,450 full pallets or 94.2 full semi trucks

A line of 95 semi trucks bumper to bumper would be about 1.5 miles long

So you defend the whole 1.5 miles.

Place a c3 every 10 feet down each side. 700 per side. 1400 c3s total. They each get about 3bps. Every second there is 4200 paintballs fired

588m paintballs devide by 4200 is 140,000 seconds
    2,333.3333 minutes
38.88888 hours of continuous fire at 3bps

          You're right!

Calling DocsMachine we might have to host this particular game in Alaska to help with the heating issues

As a side note. I wonder how many c3s were even made

              I love this.

I don't buy bulk propane like this... What is the cost of the entire tank of propane ?

A lot. I believe we have a 100gal tank. Fill at 20% up to 80% or above. Between $600-$900.

Or the entire train/convoy could run on the propane making somewhat shorter and you wouldnโ€™t need that much paint or probably every C3 ever made ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

Grain style semi-trailers with an agitator and feed system to keep the markers fed. It would save "train" length and all the time opening paintball boxes! This has "muwahahahaha" written all over it.

Man, those guys better have an absolutely ripped pump arm. Don't remember the pump stroke being any where close to decent on those C3. But if anyone of us becomes super rich we need an MCB war rig that is drive around the country to various games.

                    Depends on lots of factors

How much on average you use
If you own or lease your tank from us
                    How far away you are
What time of year it is (prices are always higher in the winter

On the low end, right now call it $2.15/gallon
                    High side is $3.90/gallon. Call it $3/gallon average. $3/g x 2800 is $8,400

Add Washington sales tax at 9% and you get $9,156

It's a chunk but to make this particular paintball tank we would also need the initial $200,000 for the truck itself. So what's 9k after that really?

Oh and don't forget the 95 tractor trailers to haul the paint

Ok I got it. We use cocker pneumatics to automate the pump stroke and we use CO2 for that. The CO2 that is used and expelled out the 3 way is then directed to a jacket that surrounds the barrel.

Automated pump stroke and barrel cooling all in one. We will probably need a CO2 tanker truck at the other end of the train now though

I think he has a different one now cause the company got sold and they changed logos and colors.
They had this one made up special for the company, one of a kind.

                          Hee! Half a billion paintballs!

Making the whole idea a little more realistic- no, really- fill the tank with compressed air.

Now, propane, according to the internet, has a working pressure of about 180 psi at 90 degrees, so presumably the tank has a working pressure of about 200 psi. There's a number of markers out there that could run that straight, or even reg it a bit lower.

I'm not a mathy type, but one of you might be able to calculate how long, say, twenty or fifty Ethas would last on a tank that size. Say, before the velocity drops below maybe 230?
